Job Summary

The Electrical Engineer will assist with the design and release of electrical parts and assemblies on High Density Liquid Cooling units. This Electrical Engineer will work in a cross-functional development group; managing a variety of tasks and activities as required in this dynamic environment to solve complex problems where no precedence exists.


Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for Liquid Cooling Systems including Two-Phase and Single- Phase Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs)
  • Size and select electrical components based on offering and system requirements
  • Create unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings 
  • Create electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards 
  • Create wire harnesses including wire sizing, appropriate terminal connections and necessary routing
  • Create drawings and bills of materials 
  • Participate in identification of cost reduction opportunities and in the design and development of cost reduction changes
  • Implement product changes to solve field issues and support the service department

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university 
  • Minimum 1-5 years of experience in an electrical engineering field in product development role
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment as a member of a dynamic team; offer and receive constructive criticism 
  • Ability to take direction and guidance from senior engineers 
  • History of delivering quality products to market with understanding and respect for phases of the product development process 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferred CREO 4.0 and greater 
  • Knowledge of NEC (NFPA79), UL 508A/SB and/or UL Standards for HVAC systems

Preferred Qualifiiations:

  • Preferred 2-4 years of experience in an HVAC related electrical engineering field.
  • Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release)
  • Experience working closely with associates in manufacturing engineering and production roles
  • Knowledge of UL60335-2-40 or equivalent CSA/UL standards  
  • Understanding electrical schematic layout and creation
  • Experience with communication and interconnect standards and protocols including RS485, CAN, and Ethernet

  • up to 10%
