Our client is an industrial automation company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Act as the lead engineer for how added control hardware connects electrically to a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. The job blends design, documentation and hands-on commissioning work, with regular time spent at customer facilities. You will also help set repeatable electrical practices as US operations expand.

What you'll do

- Study the original electrical design of each vehicle and decide how new hardware should interface with it.

- Design cabling assemblies, power distribution, grounding, circuit protection, signal circuits and vehicle network wiring.

- Prepare production-ready schematics, assembly drawings, connector listings, parts lists and installation guides.

- Lead first power-up, testing and fault-finding on equipment at customer sites.

- Coach technicians during assembly and rework.

- Develop standard, reusable electrical designs and building blocks to support growth.

What we're looking for

- About 5 or more years working on electrical systems in automotive, heavy equipment, robotics or industrial settings.

- A bachelor's degree, ideally in Electrical Engineering.

- Proven skill creating cable harnesses and low-voltage power systems with electrical CAD software.

- Working knowledge of vehicle network protocols at the physical layer, or software stack work on electric drivetrains.

- Hands-on diagnostics experience on vehicles using common bench and test instruments.

- Background in embedded software and control unit development for vehicles.

- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

- Willingness to travel to customer facilities one to three days a week.

Bonus points

- Previous work as an integration engineer or in a senior software engineering role.

- Experience at companies building robotic or autonomous systems.
