The Vice President, Emerging Solutions & Innovation Sales is a unique and highly interactive position within Optum Insight. This critical role will be essential to developing and closing product and service opportunities related to Optum's new and innovative solutions in the payer market. The Emerging Solutions team leads go to market sales efforts for new and innovative solutions built within Optum and with partners. This individual will have the opportunity to represent services focused on value-based care, data interoperability, ancillary benefit services, artificial intelligence, and digital health.

Primary Responsibilities:
- As a part of the Emerging Solutions sales team, you'll be focused on bringing new solutions and services to our health plan partners
- The executive must be able to open and progress business within all health plans
- The successful individual in the role must be an innovative thinker focused on helping solve healthcare's challenges with experience building a sales strategy for new solutions
- Take personal responsibility for building client's brand while maintaining the highest levels of client delivery satisfaction
- Create and articulate a unique and compelling value proposition in partnership with leaders across our business units, so that customer decision-makers clearly grasp the short and long - term clinical and financial value of a relationship
- Build relationships across internal organizations (IT, delivery, consulting, senior management, operations, etc.) and external vendors / partners, third-party advisors etc.
- Develop an opportunity-level sales strategy and lead RFP's, RFI's and RFQ's
- Meet and exceed sales targets, prepare accurate pipeline activity reports and forecasts
- Identify potential leads independently (or with others) through networking, maturing relationships, trade shows, public speaking and / or other sources in the assigned markets
- Manage multiple concurrent sales opportunities
- Lead deal and contract management; develop and negotiate contracts; and understanding financial models
- Stay up to date on market trends, competitors, and implications to develop strategies while maintaining tactical sales targets
- Work closely with all internal client stakeholders: delivery, sales management, operations, legal in the pursuit of client satisfaction and deliver profitability

Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years sales experience with a focus on health plans
- Experience with value-based care, healthcare services and operations, and/or outsourced services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce
- Skilled at negotiating with multiple constituencies
- Proven executive boardroom presence with proficiency with verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to think creatively on solutions to complex issues and develop viable alternatives
- Proven detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Proven ability to work across a large and complex matrix of stakeholders, coupled with the ability to thrive in an environment of change and fluctuating priorities
- Ability to travel 50%
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
