Details:

  • Paid, full-time summer internship 
  • The internship period is June 8, 2026 - August 14, 2026  
  • Must be based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate for the duration of the internship period 
  • Will be required to work in person from the office located in the Domain  

Responsibilities: 

  • Research and investigate energy industry trends, best practices, and technologies;
  • Prepare power market forecasts and research on key topics in climate change, carbon, clean energy, and fossil fuel markets;
  • Compile market variables from subject matter experts, run sensitivity analyses and stress tests, and report on the significance to models and assumptions;
  • Responsibilities include assisting with power market research, preparing models in Excel or equivalent tools, and analyzing complex problems using large datasets;
  • Assist in creating presentations, documentation, maps, and reports;
  • Identify and assess new project feasibility;
  • Complete all ad-hoc projects and special assignments as needed. 

Key Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting engineering, business, economics, data science or equivalent; 
  • Must be pursuing a master’s degree in finance, accounting engineering, business, economics, data science or equivalent;
  • Experience or desire to work with Encompass, Plexos, Aurora, PROMOD, or other dispatch/power flow models;
  • Advanced understanding of linear sensitivity factors, power system transaction management, and economic dispatch through coursework or work experience;
  • A strong interest in the renewable energy sector and a passion for decarbonization initiatives  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;  
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to an entrepreneurial environment;  
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision;  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks efficiently;
  • A proactive and enthusiastic mindset, with a focus on learning and professional development.
