What’s this role about?

As MISO Market Manager – US Market Strategy & Regulatory, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing GridBeyond’s market strategy. This role will focus on identifying commercial market opportunities, supporting regulatory compliance, enabling market access, and driving revenue growth for GridBeyond’s energy products and services.

You will work closely with sales, operations, product, trading, and leadership teams to ensure GridBeyond is well positioned to participate successfully across US energy markets, including wholesale power markets, ancillary services, demand response, capacity markets, and flexibility services.

This is a key role for someone with strong knowledge of the US energy market landscape, regulatory frameworks, MISO ISO/RTO market structures, and the commercial drivers behind battery storage, renewables, demand response and distributed energy resources.

What will I be doing?

Market Strategy Development

  • Develop and execute market strategies that align GridBeyond’s commercial objectives with US regulatory frameworks and market opportunities
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and threats across US power markets, including wholesale markets, ancillary services, capacity markets, demand response and other flexibility service
  • Monitor competitor activity, market design changes, policy developments and industry trends to ensure GridBeyond remains ahead of market changes
  • Translate complex market and regulatory data into clear, actionable strategies that support revenue growth and market expansion

Regulatory & Market Compliance

  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, guidelines and standards affecting the US energy industry, with a MISO focus on demand response, ancillary services, battery storage, capacity markets and distributed energy resources
  • Monitor and assess developments from relevant US regulatory bodies, ISOs/RTOs, industry associations and market stakeholders.
  • Support the identification and management of market regulatory risks in line with GridBeyond’s commercial strategy and risk appetite
  • Maintain a strong understanding of market rules and regulatory obligations to support GridBeyond’s participation in US energy markets

Market Participation & Commercial Enablement

  • Support GridBeyond’s registration, qualification and participation in relevant US electricity markets, including demand response, ancillary services, capacity and flexibility programmes.
  • Work closely with sales, marketing, product and operations teams to support customer engagement, commercial proposals and market-entry initiatives
  • Provide market insight and strategic guidance to help sales teams position GridBeyond’s products and services effectively with customers and partner
  • Support the development of scalable routes to market for battery energy storage, renewable assets, demand response and distributed energy resources.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key market stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, ISO/RTO representatives, industry associations, customers, partners and market participants.
  • Represent GridBeyond in industry forums, conferences, stakeholder meetings and working groups to enhance the company’s visibility and influence in the US energy sector.
  • Engage with strategic customers and partners in support of business development and market expansion

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Produce market updates, insights, briefings and recommendations for internal stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to market strategy, commercial opportunity, regulatory readiness and revenue growth.
  • Support thought leadership activity by contributing to market insights, industry commentary, customer presentations and external-facing content.

What do I need to be a good technical fit for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Energy Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in energy market strategy, market operations, regulatory affairs, demand response, battery storage, renewable energy, or related energy sector roles
  • Strong understanding of US energy market structures, regulatory frameworks and commercial drivers impacting revenue growth
  • Experience working with US ISO/RTO markets such as MISO is required.
  • Knowledge of ancillary services, capacity markets, wholesale power markets, demand response, battery energy storage and distributed energy resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that support sales, market access and revenue growth in a complex regulatory environment
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex market data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal teams, customers, partners and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau or other analytical tools would be beneficial.

  • Support scalable market participation for demand response, battery storage, renewables and distributed energy assets.
  • Act as a key internal expert on US regulatory and market developments.
  • Deliver detailed operational support, including market submissions, compliance filings,
  • Strengthen GridBeyond’s market presence with customers, partners, regulators and industry stakeholders.
  • Enable commercial and operational teams to make informed, market-led decisions.
