CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineer I to join our Electric Distribution Team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will support the planning, design, and modernization of electric distribution infrastructure that helps utilities deliver safe, reliable power. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to infrastructure that powers everyday life.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for electric distribution infrastructure including overhead and underground systems
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates for grid resiliency and energy transition projects
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for optimizing energy delivery
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment, planning, and rehabilitation of electric distribution systems
What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus

Salary Range:

$72,000 - $74,000


Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
