The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment.

[What you will be working on]

Are you a driven engineering professional looking to make a meaningful impact on public safety in Singapore? Someone who is excited to leverage on technology to solve real-world challenges and lead change? We are looking for motivated individuals to join the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Group in developing future-ready rules and championing industry transformation.

Fixed installations refer to lifts, escalators, and mechanised car parking systems.

What You Will Do

As part of our team, you will play a key role in safeguarding the safety and compliance of fixed installations in Singapore, including processing applications for approvals of new installations, conducting audit inspections on existing installations and taking enforcement actions against offenders who contravene the law.

You may also be involved in reviewing, formulating and implementing policies and rules to shape and transform the industry, keeping pace with evolving in design, technology and practices.

There will also be opportunity for you engage with different stakeholders through public education, outreach sessions and technical seminars.

[What we are looking for]

You should hold a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering from a university recognised by the Professional Engineers Board. Registration as a Professional Engineer, or progress towards attaining it, would be an advantage.

Strong analytical skills, good communication, and the ability to write clear and well-structured reports are important for this role.

Successful candidates will be offered contract employment.
