The Role:

Entegris is currently seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to join our growing Manufacturing Engineering team. This position will be based in our Burnet, TX facility. 

In this role, you will lead a team of engineers whose objective is to sustain and continuously improve specialty chemical manufacturing processes for products used in semiconductor manufacturing. Our specialty chemicals enable our customers to build high performance semiconductor products. 

This leader will be responsible for the Solids engineering team that supports our Solids production work cell.  This team is integral in supporting the growth of our solid production lines in line with semiconductor manufacturing industry growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Drive a “Safety First” culture by overseeing the team’s safety inspections to recommend/implement solutions to risks
  • Manage and prioritize projects for a team of 5-7 full time and rotational engineers, coops, interns and engineering technicians which include items such as safety enhancements, capacity expansion, and customer requests.
  • Provide regular coaching and feedback to the team and serve as the point contact for customer and product escalation support.
  • Ensure individual’s growth by creating and identifying development opportunities both through day-to-day projects and tasks as well as formal continuing education. 
  • Contribute to the larger engineering team’s strategy development and translate overarching strategy initiatives and site goals into short- and long-term goals for the solids team
  • Collaborate with production management, customer quality, and other support teams to develop improvement roadmaps and improve customer engagement and customer audits 
  • Guide the team in root cause identification evaluations by reviewing and approving findings, corrective/preventative actions, and material disposition to resolve both internal and external non-conformances. 8D methodology process is preferred.
  • Track the team’s progress on Key Performance Metrics and work to remove roadblocks or rectify gaps.
  • Review and approve new product development handoffs for the solids engineering team including resourcing requirements

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or similar preferred.  
  • 8+ years of experience in a technical manufacturing role with 4+ of those years in a managerial role in the semiconductor industry or chemical manufacturing industry providing oversight and direct coaching to a team of engineers 
  • Familiarity with transferring and/or scaling up new chemical manufacturing processes 
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles. Experience with Minitab/JMP a plus. Preferred Lean/Black Belt certification, and competency in statistical process control methodology 
  • Demonstrated ability to use structured problem-solving using tools such as 8D, FMEA, 5 Why, RCA, etc 
  • Experience working with customer facing teams to translate customer requirements to a manufacturing site preferred
  • Aptitude for leadership to drive cross-functional project execution and problem solving while maintaining positive/collaborative working relationships 
  • Ability to present technical data in a concise manner to all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally in support of various engineering projects/escalations (<5%)
