Company Overview

At Modernize (a QuinStreet division) our mission is to simplify home improvement by inspiring motivated homeowners and connecting them with qualified contractors. Our foundation is based on 20 years as a driving force as Home Improvement Leads in online lead generation – connecting homeowners with high–quality contractors – in the $500 billion annually grossing home improvement market. We’re working hard on a new brand and new products to cater to homeowners and the most successful contractors in the industry.

We’re looking for sharp, motivated individuals to join our growing team. Teammates who enjoy using technology to solve problems will thrive in our dynamic startup environment. We have an open floor plan that encourages the entire team to participate in critical discussions and allows everyone to be a vital contributing factor. You’ll enjoy our hip, newly renovated office in the heart of downtown with a view of the capital and the downtown skyline.

Job Category

At Modernize, our Enterprise Sales team isn’t just another sales org — it’s the engine behind our march toward $1B in revenue. We're helping the biggest names in home improvement win more business, and we’re doing it with sharp strategy, deep industry credibility, and a sales culture built by some of the sharpest leaders in the industry.

This is a high-impact, high-earning role — with OTEs ranging from $200K to $350K. You’ll be supported by a full-time research analyst, dedicated marketing resources, and access to warm opportunities through channel and AM partnerships — nice sprinkles, but not the cupcake. We win here by booking discovery calls, delivering value, and closing meaningful, six- and seven-figure partnerships.

This isn’t boiler-room selling — this is consultative, strategic work using our proprietary enterprise sales methodology. You’ll help companies ranging from $20M contractors to multi-billion-dollar brands grow by millions through collaborative, long-term partnerships.

We're not here to churn deals — we're here to build partnerships that last and drive revenue year after year.

What You’ll Do

  • Continue to do what you do best — hunt. This role demands a hunter with a proven track record of engaging decision-makers and booking discovery calls — it starts and ends with consistent pipeline creation
  • Own specific trades and become the go-to ambassador for your trades, developing deep expertise and a strong POV that drives value and credibility
  • Own the full sales cycle — from strategic outbound to signed contract — targeting $20M to multi-billion-dollar home services brands
  • Consistently generate $2M+ in annual revenue, driving real value for your clients and Modernize
  • Partner with our in-house research analyst and marketing team to develop ABM campaigns for your highest-value accounts
  • Prospect into C-Suite and senior leadership, delivering a value story that resonates at the top
  • Build and manage a high-conversion pipeline, closing deals in a one (1) to six (6) month cycle with ~30%+ win rates
  • Collaborate with channel sales and AM teams to convert warm leads and expand landed accounts
  • Navigate complex negotiations and win with expert buyers, crafting high-value, win-win deals that drive ongoing client engagement and revenue beyond initial contract terms
  • Maintain clean forecasting and pipeline hygiene in Salesforce
  • Serve as a consultative advisor — not a pitch machine — helping clients understand how to win more business through performance marketing
  • Adhere to proven playbooks that drive results — and contribute to building and improving new processes as we scale

Required Qualifications

  • You’ve been a top 10% performer in every sales org you’ve joined — and have proof
  • You have at least 5 years of experience selling into enterprise accounts
  • You’re a hunter who thrives on strategic outbound and consistently books meetings with hard-to-reach decision-makers
  • You’re fluent in financial modeling, forecasting, Pro Formas, and ROI storytelling — and you know how to sell to the C-Suite
  • You’ve closed six- and seven-figure deals, navigating complex buying cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • You can clearly articulate your own sales process — step-by-step — and explain why it works
  • You can clearly articulate customer lifecycle stages — from early-stage onboarding to mature, long-term partnerships — and have examples of how your sales approach evolves accordingly
  • You negotiate like a pro and consistently land win-win deals with sophisticated buyers — because you’re focused on building trusted, lasting relationships that grow over time, not quick wins
  • You understand how to drive customer lifetime value (LTV) — not just land deals — and can speak to churn, attrition, and client retention
  • You keep your CRM clean and your pipeline real — no fluff, just facts
  • You’re self-aware, coachable, and relentless — driven to improve every day
  • You play to win, thrive in fast-paced environments, and elevate the people around you
  • You respect proven playbooks, but you’re not afraid to suggest better ones

Why Modernize

We’re not building a sales team — we’re building the team that will take Modernize to $1B+. Enterprise is the heartbeat of that growth.

Here’s what you get:

  • $200K–$350K+ earning potential — and uncapped upside
  • A dedicated research analyst and marketing resources just for your accounts
  • Access to warm opps through channel and AM relationships
  • killer tech stack that’s always evolving
  • Real executive visibility — you’re not a number here
  • A wicked smart team of collaborators who challenge each other to be better
  • Leadership from some of the sharpest, most respected sales leaders in the industry
  • The chance to work with the most recognizable brands in home improvement
  • And the opportunity to grow something big — while having a good time doing it

The expected salary range for this position is $90,000 USD to $110,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. The salary may be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The position is also eligible to receive performance bonus or commission and equity in the form of restricted stock units. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefits programs, which currently include health care benefits; (2) retirement benefits; (3) the amount of paid days off (paid sick leave, parental leave, paid time off, or vacation benefits); (4) any other tax-reportable benefits.
