Position Responsibilities:
- As the fabrication process specialist, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.
- Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for internally fabricated items.
- Apply principles and practices typically associated with quality and industrial manufacturing and coordinate with other support disciplines as required.
- Coordinate with supply chain on make versus buy analysis to ensure most cost-effective solution for fabrication items taking into account equipment needs, capacity, and lead time requirements.
- Develop work instruction travelers to identify process steps in the fabrication process and coordinate with engineering to include all part requirements.
- Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects
- Provides guidance to fabrication team in prioritization of work tasks.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support
- High level of understanding in manufacturing of Sheet Metal assembly, composite repairs, and CNC machining.
- MS office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Active listener and willing to learn
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-based environment
- Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure
- Understanding of fabrication and/or assembly build processes and sequencing
- Experience in Continuous improvement and Manufacturing Support
- Experience with SAP
