Events Team reporting to Director of Events & Venue

Full-time in office

As an Events Manager at Capital Factory, you won’t just plan events—you’ll create unforgettable experiences that shape the future of innovation in Texas and beyond. You’ll take the lead on producing our most iconic cornerstone programs including CF House at SXSW, Health Supernova, Fed Supernova, and Austin Startup Week—events that attract founders, investors, Fortune 500 leaders, and government innovators from around the world. These multi-day experiences are massive undertakings, and you’ll be at the helm from concept to curtain call—coordinating live programming, entertainment, high-impact demos, and partner activations that make headlines. You'll work hand-in-hand with our Director of Events & Venue to orchestrate every detail—from booking a Cabinet-level speaker to making sure the lights go out on time. You’ll build lasting relationships with startup founders, venture capitalists, Fortune 500 partners, military leaders, government officials, and media influencers, growing your network at the center of the most powerful tech community in Texas.

What you will do…

  • You manage a team of event stakeholders & strategic partners while planning a portfolio of annual events. You will lead an internal team associated with these efforts.
  • You oversee all aspects of event production, including planning, budgeting, logistics, marketing, and execution.
  • You incorporate all your available resources into each event, featuring founders, mentors, investors, and corporate partners as speakers and sponsors to “Get the right people in the room.”
  • You are responsible for managing Capital Factory’s ticketing and event platforms, ensuring attendees have a seamless registration to check-in experience across all events.
  • You report and communicate on attendee analytics, providing insight into attendee behavior and preferences that inform future event strategies.
  • You have a precise understanding of event expenses and ROI, using that data to make data-driven decisions to optimize spending without compromising event quality.
  • You develop bold, cutting-edge event strategies that create memorable experiences.
  • You foster a culture of inclusion, excellence, and teamwork.

You'll know you're successful if....

  • Events end up slightly under the projected budget and slightly over revenue targets.
  • Programs are well attended, and the participants and sponsors are highly satisfied.
  • Events have high early registration rates and sponsorship opportunities being claimed far in advance.
  • Partners and sponsors give unsolicited feedback about how great your team is to work with, and they show they mean it by giving us repeat business.
  • All our event spaces run like a well-oiled machine.
Requirements

About you…

  • You have a passion for collaboration and networking
  • You have a passion for creating programming that is valuable for the startup community
  • You are outgoing and can talk to just about anyone.
  • You are a documentor. You make lists and spreadsheets.
  • You are a problem solver. You look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
  • You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute… because they will. You roll with it.
  • You check your email in the evenings and are available to work during evening events and over the weekends when there is a tight deadline. You do what it takes to get the job done.
  • You have a reliable laptop computer & smartphone that you are comfortable using for work.
  • You plan to stay in Texas for at least two years.
