TechOp Solutions is seeking a remote FOIA Analyst who is responsible for reviewing and interpreting FOIA requests, conducting or validating records searches, applying FOIA exemptions, preparing releasable records, and ensuring all responses comply with statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements.
***This position is contingent upon contract award.***
- Review, interpret, and categorize incoming FOIA requests to determine scope, complexity, and required tasking.
- Conduct and/or validate adequate records searches in coordination with program offices.
- Apply appropriate FOIA exemptions and redactions consistent with federal law, DOJ guidance, and agency policy.
- Ensure responses meet statutory timelines, accuracy standards, and disclosure requirements.
- Ensures consistency and mentors junior staff.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of FOIA request processing experience within the last 36 months.
- Proficient in applying redaction tools and documenting FOIA exemption determinations.
- Associate degree
- Comprehensive understanding of FOIA exemptions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interface with leadership.
