Description

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the IVIX Delivery team.

In this hands-on, customer-facing role, you will work directly with government agencies to understand their challenges, identify relevant data sources, and build solutions that turn complex data into actionable findings. You will combine engineering, analytical thinking, and a deep understanding of customer needs to solve real-world problems and deliver measurable results.

About the company

IVIX is the first AI-powered solution designed specifically to address a $20 trillion problem: illuminating the global shadow economy.

IVIX leverages Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and advanced technologies to reveal illicit business activity around the world, empowering governments in their mission to fight financial crime and close the tax gap.

Our platform combines AI technologies-including deep neural networks, large language models, and predictive modeling-with advanced data analytics to rapidly identify large-scale illicit business activity and help government authorities combat financial crime in the digital age.

Led by experts in security, technology, tax, and financial crime, and advised by a diverse team of former IRS commissioners, IVIX works with dozens of state and federal government agencies globally.

About the postion

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join the IVIX Delivery team.

In this role, you will work directly with government agencies to understand their business challenges, identify relevant data sources, and develop technical solutions tailored to their needs.

You will take ownership of customer engagements end to end, from initial discovery and requirements gathering to building data pipelines, deploying solutions, and delivering actionable findings.

This is a hands-on engineering role that combines software development, data engineering, and direct customer engagement. You will work with complex data, navigate challenging technical environments, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver reliable, data-driven solutions that create measurable impact.

What You'll Do

  • Own customer engagements end to end - from initial discovery and understanding the agency's needs to delivering findings and measuring their impact.
  • Identify and evaluate external data sources that can expose the non-compliance the agency cares about, and build the collection and integration processes to acquire them.
  • Turn raw data into reliable, actionable findings through entity resolution, risk signals, scoring, and data validation.
  • Design and build data pipelines, backend services, and analytical solutions that support customer investigations and decision-making.
  • Deploy and integrate solutions into customer environments, including on-premises and air-gapped environments.
  • Build analytical and investigative tools, including AI-assisted features grounded in the data.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their priorities, workflows, and challenges, translating their needs into practical technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Product and R&D teams, bringing customer insights and reusable solutions back into the shared codebase.
  • Validate findings against their sources, measure results, and clearly communicate what the data can and cannot support.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building production data systems, backend services, or applied analytics over large-scale, real-world data.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and SQL.
  • Experience acquiring, processing, and integrating data from external and imperfect sources, including web data at scale.
  • Experience designing and building data pipelines, backend services, and data-driven solutions.
  • Proven experience working directly with customers, including leading technical discussions, understanding business challenges, and translating requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience delivering technical solutions into customer or production environments, including environments handling sensitive or regulated data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in ambiguous and complex environments.
  • Experience with modern AI tooling, including AI-assisted development and LLM-based applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - an advantage.

Our Stack

We work mostly in Python and SQL over cloud data warehouses, with Node/TypeScript on the product side, Kubernetes for collection and deployment, graph and search databases for entity and investigation work, and LLMs throughout.

You do not need to know all of it on day one; you need to be able to pick up whatever the problem requires.
