About Bridge
Bridge is the fastest, most compliant way to scale insurance billing nationwide. We enable virtual care companies to go in-network nationally in as little as 30 days, without the operational lift. Our platform handles payer contracting, credentialing, real-time benefit verification, medical coding, claim submission, denial management, and compliance in a single integrated solution. Backed by leading investors including General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz, Thrive Capital, Khosla Ventures, Greenoaks, and Mischief, we're scaling rapidly.

The Role
Bridge is hiring our founding designer to establish the design foundations for our product and lead the design of complex clinical and operational workflows.

You’ll partner closely with the CTO and engineering team to turn complex problems into clear, practical experiences across the product, documentation, partner-facing guides, and other supporting artifacts. You’ll stay involved through implementation, UX QA, and iteration. As Bridge’s first designer, you’ll establish the practices and quality bar for design across the company. This is a hands-on IC role reporting directly to the CTO.

Responsibilities
  • Establish Bridge's design system: visual foundations, components, states, and higher-level UX patterns
  • Lead design for complex product workflows, beginning with provider onboarding, then iterate based on user research, usability testing, product analytics, and targeted feedback
  • Partner with the CTO and engineering team to jointly define product problems and solutions
  • Improve complex clinical and operational workflows, including navigation and information architecture
  • Own design through implementation, final UX QA, and iteration with engineers
  • Own the experience, structure, clarity, tone, and language of onboarding and product content
  • Define the structure, hierarchy, visual system, and content guidance for documentation, partner-facing guides, and supporting artifacts
  • Steward Bridge's brand across occasional product, website, and company needs

Requirements
  • 5+ years of product design experience, with strong zero-to-one and early-stage experience
  • Deep experience with complex B2B workflows
  • Have established or meaningfully owned a design system, beyond producing individual components
  • Strong product analytics fluency and experience independently running workflow research and usability testing
  • Strong workflow, information-architecture, and systems thinking
  • Experience carrying design through implementation, UX QA, and iteration
  • Strong collaboration with engineering and technical leadership
  • Basic front-end fluency: comfortable making small React/CSS PRs (spacing, styling, mild layout adjustments)

Nice to Have
  • Experience as the first or a very early designer at a company
  • Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience
  • API, infrastructure, or developer-product experience
  • Experience with dense, exception-heavy operational workflows

Why Bridge
  • Shape the design foundations of a company accelerating the adoption of virtual care to reduce costs and improve access to care
  • Build the design system and function with direct CTO partnership
  • High-ownership role with clear impact: design coherence directly shapes how well Bridge scales
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and equity package. Given Bridge's funding and stage, we heavily value the potential upside from equity.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $175,000 – $210,000 per year.
