Your Opportunity – Be the Voice of Design at Grifin

As our first designer, here are a few of the things we’ll look for from you:

• 30 Days: Deliver well-defined, high-quality visual design for product and marketing.
• 60 Days: Partner with Product and Engineering to reimagine critical user flows, starting with onboarding and the first minutes of the user journey. 
• 90 Days: Establish Grifin’s design system, drive usability testing, and lead research initiatives that help us de-risk before we build.

In this role, you’ll collaborate across the org, from Product to Engineering to Growth, and serve as a trusted expert in design craft, UX, and brand evolution.

What Excites Us About You 

• You’ve been a founding or early designer before, or have experience that shows you thrive in high-agency, ambiguous environments.
• You’re full-stack product designer: UI-strong, UX-obsessed, capable of both strong visual design and mapping end-to-end journeys.
• You don’t wait for instructions, you bring clarity, drive, and a proactive mindset to everything you touch.
• You’re confident running user research and usability testing, and you know how to translate insights into action.
• You think systematically, balancing near-term polish with building scalable design foundations.
• You have excellent communication skills and can collaborate easily across product, engineering, and business teams.
• Experience with mobile-first app design and Figma (or similar) required
• *Bonus* You love building responsive and animated designs
• *Bonus* You think differently and are able to create new experiences. You have the innate ability to bring real life experiences into simple, intuitive design.
