Title: Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Reports to: CFO

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta preferred; Hybrid in Austin considered; full time in-office until fully ramped

About the Role:

As Manager of FP&A at CharterUP, you will play a critical role in supporting CharterUP’s financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis efforts. This is a highly visible, hands-on role that partners closely with the CFO and cross-functional leaders to deliver insights that inform decision-making across the business. You will own the budgeting process, board reporting, build and maintain CharterUP’s financial model, and partner with functional leads to drive operational improvements and efficiencies as the company continues to grow. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys digging into data, and wants to make a direct impact on company performance.
What You’ll Do:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Own the financial planning cycle, including annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, long-term plan
  • Partner closely with the CFO to deliver analysis and insights that support company performance and growth
  • Prepare and contribute to financial materials for executive leadership, board meetings, and investor discussions, with a focus on key business drivers
  • Support finance-related workstreams for future fundraises and potential acquisitions, including modeling, analysis, and materials preparation

Cross-Functional Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate with leaders across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Technology, and People to align financial plans with business objectives
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support for major initiatives such as new market entry, pricing, and product development
  • Identify and support process improvements that drive net revenue, repeat business, and EBITDA
  • Support automation initiatives, including leveraging AI and BI tools to improve efficiency and insight generation

Team & Process Management:

  • Scale the FP&A function, supporting best practices and operational excellence

Reporting & Performance Analysis:

  • Build and maintain CharterUP’s financial model
  • Own the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting and KPI dashboards for leadership
  • Analyze financial performance, including revenue trends, cost drivers, and profitability metrics, to identify risks and opportunities
  • Surface material insights and support recommendations for corrective actions
What You’ll Bring: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from top academic institution; preference for Finance, Economics, or a quantitative field (math, computer science, physics) 
  • 2 years pre-MBA or post-MBA in investment banking in M&A or industry coverage group with multiple live-deal assignments; or 2 years pre-MBA or post-MBA in management consulting with meaningful project experience
  • 1-3+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance; preferably at high-growth, venture-backed or PE-backed companies (dependent on previous experience)
  • Expert experience in financial modeling, budget planning, and driving to completion investor-grade presentations
  • Experience influencing C-suite and board-level stakeholders
