FRONT OF HOUSE MANAGER  JOB SUMMARY: 

Front of House manager is responsible for overseeing all guest-facing food and beverage operations including Chair 5 pub, KaWham Cafe and all on mountain outlet locations. They are responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling staff, ensuring excellent guest satisfaction, efficient operations and strong communication between the front and back of house. The Front of House manager also supports the planning and execution of food and beverage services for Mission Ridge events. This person is committed to delivering the highest quality guest experience by providing exceptional service and value. Complete guest satisfaction is the ultimate goal.  The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced and high volume environment, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times, and works collaboratively with the Executive Chef and operational leaders. As a working manager this role is expected to assist with front line operations as needed, including serving tables, cashiering, or filling other positions as needed based on business and staffing levels. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:

  • Team leadership:

Hire, train, schedule, and develop FOH staff, including hosts, servers, cashiers, baristas, bussers, and bartenders. 

  • Operational excellence:

Supervise daily opening and closing duties, manage cash drawers, collecting, counting, verifying, and reconciling cash deposits for accuracy and ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and alcohol regulations.

  • Inventory and financial control:

Track labor costs, manage FOH supply and beverage inventory, and assist in driving sales and profitability. 

  • Floor & Event Management:

Act as the conductor of the shift, managing reservations, pacing table turnover, and ensuring smooth food timing, while maintaining cleanliness.

  • Menu development:

Assist in the development of food and beverage menus. 

SKILLS PREFERRED :

  • Proficient in POS systems and reservation software
  • Communication - strong interpersonal skills to build team morale and clearly relay information between teams as well as actively listening to guest feedback and staff concerns to improve operations.
  • Financial Literacy - reading profit and loss statements to see trends, improve net revenue and control costs.
  • Google Workspace proficiency
  • Compliance knowledge - understanding labor laws, tip pooling rules, and L&I standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in restaurants, including demonstrated experience managing budgets, POS use and set up, scheduling, ordering, and inventory. Prior experience supervising staff is essential.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly use hands for typing, writing, and handling equipment. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, or carrying event-related materials are common. The employee must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and remain active on their feet for extended periods. Visual acuity sufficient for reading reports and screens, and hearing sufficient to communicate with coworkers and guests, are required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work schedules may include extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings. Mission Ridge is committed to maintaining a drug- and alcohol-free, smoke-free workplace. Due to the seasonal nature of the ski industry, work hours and employment status may vary based on weather conditions and operational needs. This position requires travel to on-mountain locations by chairlift, snowmobile, or snowcat.

-The position requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, and crouch for extended periods. 


Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Frequently

-Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds


Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Regularly

-Must be able to write, type, and use phone system
