What do we need

Dotmatics is transforming how science gets done. As the world's leading scientific R&D SaaS platform, we connect instruments, data, and workflows across the lab lifecycle—from experiment design and automated execution to manufacturing scale-up.

We're seeking a Global Commercial Leader for Luma Lab Automation, Orchestration & Execution to help define and drive the go-to-market strategy for our enterprise customers. This leader will serve as the commercial bridge between the physical lab and the digital layer, accelerating adoption of automated, orchestrated workflows across global pharma and biotech organizations through the combined power of Dotmatics and Siemens.

This role is purpose-built for a domain expert who lives at the intersection of lab automation, scheduling and execution systems, and scientific informatics. Someone who can translate the complexity of instrument integration, workflow orchestration, and execution-layer data capture into scalable, high-impact digital solutions for the world's largest R&D organizations.

As a Commercial Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how global pharma and biotech organizations move from manual, fragmented lab operations to connected, intelligent execution environments, where instruments, people, and data work in concert through the combined capabilities of Dotmatics Luma and expanding into the Siemens automation ecosystem.

We are looking for people who have 10+ years of experience in SaaS, life sciences software, lab automation, or scientific informatics with a strong grasp of pharma R&D workflows (discovery through CMC), and ideally holding a Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or Robotics; MBA or advanced scientific degree preferred.

The Key Skills we are looking for:

  • Commercial Strategy & Domain Leadership — Proven success in the life sciences sector, with specific exposure to lab automation, scientific intelligence, or  execution-layer software.
  • Biopharma / Life Sciences Insight — Deep understanding of automated data flow across R&D, from instrument control and execution systems to ELN/LIMS, CDS systems, analytics, and closed-loop orchestration workflows.
  • Strong Storytelling and Executive Communication — Able to translate automation and orchestration capabilities into business outcomes for senior R&D, operations, IT, and digital transformation leaders.
  • Technical Translation — Ability to bridge technical capability (robotics, scheduling engines, instrument integration) and scientific business value (throughput, reproducibility, cycle time reduction).
  • Strategic Partnership Management — Ability to identify, build, and nurture high-value alliances that drive joint automation and execution outcomes across hardware, software, and services partners.
  • Ecosystem Thinking — Understands how automation platforms, execution engines, scheduling software, and informatics systems interconnect within a lab digitalization ecosystem (lab orchestration, AI/ML-driven scheduling, digital twin).
  • Thought Leadership — Capable of shaping industry narratives around lab automation, self-driving labs, and intelligent execution through panels, roundtables, and publications. Guiding Clients through digital transformation
  • Relationship Management — Trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders across automation vendors, CROs, and biopharma operators, able to balance interests and drive shared lab modernization success.
