Trade Analyst – Duty Mitigation (Enhanced Data & Analytics Focus) 

 

Position Summary 

The Trade Analyst plays a critical role in advancing the effectiveness, scalability, and maturity of global trade operations. This role is responsible for architecting, developing, and delivering scalable data, analytics, and identifying automation solutions that transform data into strategic insight and enable compliant, efficient execution of duty mitigation initiatives. 
 
This individual leverages enterprise data architecture, data modeling, and advanced analytics to support integrated reporting frameworks, and predictive insights, while enabling a strong foundation for self-service analytics across trade operations. 

Duty Mitigation Strategy and Regulatory Compliance 

Support and enhance global duty mitigation and tariff management initiatives through data-driven analysis and scalable reporting solutions. Develop and maintain knowledge of regulations including Free Trade Agreements and Duty Drawback. 
 
Perform and oversee data validation, data quality monitoring, and governance practices to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and integrity of enterprise datasets supporting trade operations. 

Data Analysis, Financial Reporting, and Insights 

  • Design and develop data models optimized for reporting, analytics, and advanced AI/ML consumption 

  • Build queries, enterprise reports, dashboards, and data quality scorecards using Tableau, Power BI, and SQL 

  • Enable self-service analytics through governed datasets and scalable reporting frameworks 

  • Apply predictive analytics and machine learning models to generate forward-looking insights 

  • Establish and enforce data governance, integrity, and quality standards across reporting environments 

Process Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

Partner cross-functionally with Trade Operations, Finance, IT, and Supplier Account Management teams to support strategic initiatives and system enhancements. Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable business insights and ensure alignment with enterprise data strategies. 
 
Support development and standardization of SOPs, data governance frameworks, and control documentation to drive consistency and scalability. 

Automation, Systems & Digital Enablement 

  • Architect Robotics Process Automation (RPA) solutions for operational workflows and collaborate with RPA teams. 

  • Architect AI/ML-driven solutions to support business decision-making and predictive analytics 

  • Develop and manage data pipelines and integration workflows using platforms such as Databricks 

  • Collaborate with IT groups to architect and enhance scalable data platforms, including integration, data warehousing, and search capabilities 

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of enterprise data infrastructure supporting analytics, reporting, and AI use cases 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trade compliance, analytics, or data-focused roles 

  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and data visualization tools 

  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree or certifications in Data Analytics or Data Science 

  • Experience with Duty Drawback, Free Trade Agreements, or FTZ programs 

  • Experience designing and deploying AI/ML or advanced analytics solutions 

  • Experience with data modeling, enterprise data architecture, and self-service analytics enablement 

  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks 

Core Skills & Competencies 

  • Strong analytical, data modeling, and visualization expertise 

  • Ability to architect scalable data solutions and translate data into strategic insights 

  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and automation technologies 

  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills 

Tools & Technologies 

SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Databricks, SAP Analytics & Reporting Tools, Python (Machine Learning & AI), Data Science & Predictive Analytics, RPA tools, and enterprise data platforms.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
