About the Texas Democratic Party

Founded in 1846, Texas Democrats continue the march towards a state as great as its promise.

A fair shot for all, that’s what drove Democrats to build this great state, and that is what drives us today. A belief that no matter who you are, what you look like, where you come from, or who you love if you work hard in Texas, you can make it.

We believe democratic government exists to achieve as a community, state, and nation what we cannot achieve as individuals.

We believe in equal opportunity, fairness, freedom, family, community, and a responsibility to ourselves and each other. These are the values our elders passed down to us, the values we hope to share with our children, and the values we expect from our elected officials.

The Texas Democratic Party is a movement of millions of Texans coming together to fight for our Texas values. We know our state cannot succeed when the deck is stacked against working Texans and their families.

About the Role

The Texas Democratic Party is seeking Distributed Organizers to join our Texas Together 2026 Coordinated Campaign, supporting Talarico for Texas and Democratic candidates up and down the ballot.

Our distributed organizing department is building a statewide volunteer program that allows Texans to take meaningful action for Democratic candidates regardless of where they live. Through virtual voter contact, volunteer recruitment, relational organizing, and other distributed tactics, the department turns enthusiasm across the state into sustained volunteer activity and voter turnout, while building the lasting infrastructure Texas Democrats need to win now and in the cycles ahead.

We are hiring Distributed Organizers across three distinct roles:

  • Distributed Canvass Manager
  • Call & Text Manager
  • Volunteer Engagement Manager

Applicants may be considered for one or multiple roles based on their experience and interests. In your cover letter, please indicate which role or roles you are interested in.

This position will begin before Labor Day and end November 15, 2026.

  • Run mass volunteer recruitment texting: Work with leadership to build and send recruitment texts at scale. This includes audience selection, message drafting and testing, send scheduling, and response handling. Track conversion from text to signup to completed shift, and iterate on what actually turns a reply into a volunteer on a shift.
  • Develop volunteer phone bank hosts: Identify volunteers ready to lead, train them to host their own DVCs, and coach them through their first few until they can run independently.

This role sits at the center of the volunteer experience and calls for strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to build community among supporters across a large and geographically dispersed state.
