Job summary
UATX is hiring a Graphic Designer to support the institution’s visual output across digital, web, print, and merchandising. This is not a “brand visionary” role. It is an execution role for someone who takes pride in great typography, strong layout, fast turnaround, and careful attention to detail. The designer will also be responsible for routine web updates and visual edits within WordPress.
Responsibilities
· Design Execution
o Serve under the Creative Director to maintain and evolve visual systems
o Create graphics for digital platforms (social media, email, web, video thumbnails)
o Design print materials (event collateral, advertising, one-pagers, internal documents, signage)
o Produce branded templates that maintain consistency across the institution
o Prepare files for print, merchandising, and digital distribution
· Web & WordPress
o Make routine website updates in WordPress (text edits, image swaps, layout adjustments)
o Upload and format new content pages in coordination with editorial
o Maintain visual consistency and accuracy across the site
o Troubleshoot basic layout or formatting issues within WordPress themes
· Brand & Visual Consistency
o Apply institutional brand standards consistently
o Ensure materials are aligned with the university’s tone and mission
Qualifications
· 2-5 years of graphic design experience
· Strong portfolio demonstrating typography, layout, and digital work
· Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
· Working knowledge of WordPress (content editing, page builds, basic troubleshooting)
· High attention to detail and strong file organization

· Have basic understanding of HTML/CSS
· Have photography experience
· Have experience working in-house or within a small creative team
· Have experience designing for mission-driven or educational institutions
