The Role
The Group Leader - Data & Insights is accountable for GM Energy's data and insights strategy, architecture, and delivery across data integration, semantic and metric governance, shared data products, and decision intelligence. This role balances execution of a multiyear data roadmap with ongoing, executive-grade business intelligence to ensure trusted operational reporting and scalable, governed data foundations aligned to enterprise standards. The Group Leader builds and leads a lean team spanning Data Platform & Integration and Data Products, Insights & Center of Excellence (CoE).

What You Will Do
- Define and execute a 2-3 year data and insights roadmap aligned to GM Energy's growth and monetization strategy.
- Own the enterprise KPI framework, metric definitions, and certified "single source of truth" datasets.
- Lead data ingestion, modeling, semantic layer, and BI visualization capabilities.
- Deliver executive dashboards and business health reporting across Sales, Operations, Product, and Finance.
- Establish intake and prioritization processes to balance roadmap initiatives with recurring BI needs.
- Automate partner integrations and data pipelines to eliminate manual reporting and reduce risk.
- Define and manage data quality standards, SLAs, monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
- Align architecture and integration patterns with Enterprise Data Engineering, Software & Services, IT, Privacy, and Cybersecurity.
- Serve as the single point of accountability for operational data integrity across GM Energy.
Leadership & Organizational
- Build and lead a lean, high-performing data team with clear priorities and operating mechanisms.
- Balance long-term platform durability with speed and quality of insight delivery.
- Drive cross-functional alignment through structured, data-backed decision frameworks.
- Ensure near-term reporting solutions align to scalable architecture standards.
- Role-model GM leadership behaviors and foster accountability, inclusion, and transparency.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related discipline)
- Experience balancing ongoing BI delivery with long-term data platform roadmaps.
- Proven leadership of cross-functional data organizations supporting operational scale.
- Strong knowledge of APIs, cloud data platforms, pipelines, and modern BI tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Demonstrated Leadership skills and experience
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into executive-level insights and decision frameworks.
- Experience implementing data governance, data quality standards, and SLA management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in a data/technology or other related field preferred
- Experience in energy, mobility, grid services, or other asset-intensive industries.
- Leadership experience in build-stage or high-growth environments.
- Experience supporting performance-based, as-a-service, or other monetization models.
- Familiarity with GM enterprise data platforms, standards, and ways of working.
