Position Overview

At Contrarian Thinking, we help take back Main Street by buying and building businesses the smart way. We help build profitable, scalable businesses predictably, consistently, and less painfully. We buy businesses, teach our partners how to do acquisitions, then we help them scale to create enduring businesses they love to run. We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Manager to own the engine that turns attention into revenue.

This is a hands-on growth role for someone who lives in paid acquisition, conversion optimization, and funnel performance. You will own paid media performance and on-site conversion, partnering closely with creative, product, and sales to drive measurable revenue growth.

This role is not about strategy decks—it’s about shipping tests, reading data, and improving conversion every week.

What You’ll Own

Paid Acquisition

  • Own performance across paid channels (Meta, Google, YouTube, native, emerging platforms)
  • Partner with our content team and external contractors to develop, test, and scale winning ad concepts
  • Set and manage budgets, CAC targets, and scaling frameworks
  • Ensure clean tracking, attribution, and campaign structure across all paid efforts
  • Analyze cohort performance and LTV to inform spend decisions

Conversion Rate Optimization

  • Own CRO across landing pages, opt-ins, checkout flows, and email capture
  • Design and run structured A/B tests (headlines, offers, layouts, pricing, upsells)
  • Identify friction points across the funnel and prioritize fixes by revenue impact
  • Partner with design and product to ship improvements quickly
  • Build and maintain a CRO roadmap tied directly to revenue lift

Funnel & Revenue Performance

  • Monitor full-funnel performance from click → lead → customer → LTV
  • Build dashboards that clearly show conversion rates, CAC, payback, and revenue impact
  • Collaborate with sales and lifecycle teams to improve lead quality and downstream conversion
  • Maintain tracking infrastructure (pixels, UTMs, events, attribution models)
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in growth marketing, paid media, or CRO roles
  • Deep understanding of B2C sales funnels, the metrics that matter at each stage, and direct-response economics
  • Proven experience owning paid acquisition and conversion optimization
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to make decisions
  • Experience working with marketing automation and CRM systems (HubSpot experience preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation tools
  • Ability to prioritize tests based on impact, effort, and learning velocity
  • Experience in sales enablement or direct sales support
  • Located in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience scaling paid spend profitably (not just launching campaigns)
  • Strong testing instincts and comfort killing underperforming ideas fast
  • Technical fluency in tracking, attribution, and funnel instrumentation
  • Experience working with high-velocity funnels and paid traffic at scale
  • Clear examples of conversion improvements you personally drove
  • History of collaborative work with sales teams to improve processes
  • Experience with revenue attribution modeling and reporting
Who You Are
  • Obsessed with conversion rates with a relentless focus on revenue impact
  • Analytical thinker who can translate data into actionable insights
  • Problem solver who thrives on finding and fixing funnel inefficiencies
  • Strong communicator who can bridge the gap between marketing and sales
  • Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills

This role is perfect for someone who gets excited about optimization, loves diving into funnel metrics, and wants to have a direct impact on revenue growth. You'll have the autonomy to implement and test new ideas, with clear accountability to revenue outcomes.
