Role Type: Full-time

Engagement: Independent Contractor

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Account Management to lead our Account Management team while personally owning client accounts across the full cycle, from the handoff from our Account Executives through intake, delivery and placement, to retention and growth.

You’ll work closely with our Head of Operations and Talent, who leads recruitment. Together, you’ll own fulfilment and make sure the commercial and talent sides of the business are working toward the same goal: getting the placement.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You won’t be managing from the sidelines. You’ll carry accounts yourself while building, coaching, and holding accountable a team that does the same.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the Full Account Lifecycle
  • Take ownership of clients from AE handoff through intake, delivery, placement, retention, and growth.
  • Run consultative intake calls, create clear recruitment briefs, and set realistic expectations around salary, profiles, and timelines.
  • Partner closely with recruiters to remove blockers, secure timely client feedback, and keep interviews moving.
  • Manage offer stages and help get candidates successfully over the line.
  • Own post-placement check-ins, account health, and opportunities for upsells and repeat roles.
Lead & Develop the Account Management Team
  • Lead and coach a remote team of Account Managers, setting clear KPIs around placement rate, fill rate, retention, and account growth.
  • Hold the team accountable without micromanaging and step in early when accounts or searches are at risk.
  • Build a culture of end-to-end ownership and high performance.
Raise the Standard of Client Communication
  • Set the standard for clear, proactive client communication and consistent follow-ups.
  • Ensure clients are kept informed and never have to chase for updates.
  • Handle difficult conversations and manage expectations confidently when needed.
Build & Improve Processes
  • Build scalable processes for AE-to-AM handoffs, follow-up rhythms, account health checks, and escalations.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks across the client and recruitment journey.
  • Use data to prioritise high-potential accounts and recognise when an account no longer justifies the resources required.

Requirements
  • Strong full-cycle account management experience, from commercial handoff and onboarding through delivery, placement, retention, renewal, and growth.
  • Experience in staffing, recruitment, RPO, a talent marketplace, or a closely related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing and coaching a team of Account Managers, ideally remotely.
  • Experience building processes within a startup or scale-up environment.
  • Strong understanding of metrics such as placement rate, fill rate, time-to-fill, retention, and account growth.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify upsell and repeat-business opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to anticipate client needs, identify problems early, and take ownership of solving them.
  • Comfortable making difficult decisions and prioritising accounts based on commercial potential.
  • Highly organised, proactive, and accountable for outcomes.

Benefits

🌎 Fully remote role with the opportunity to work in a fast-growing international business.

🚀 High-impact leadership position with ownership of a core revenue and fulfilment function.

🛠️ Build the function your way where you shape processes, KPIs, communication standards, and operating rhythms.

📈 Strong career growth and ownership as our Account Management team and client base expand.

🤝 Work closely with senior leadership and collaborate across Sales, Account Management, Operations, and Talent.

🎯 Performance-driven environment where success is measured by placements, retention, client satisfaction, and account growth.
