About Wing:

Wing offers drone delivery as a safe, fast, and sustainable solution for last mile logistics. Consumer appetites for on-demand services are increasing, but current delivery methods are inefficient, costly, and contribute to road accidents and air pollution. Wing’s fleet of highly automated delivery drones can transport small packages directly from businesses to homes on-demand, in minutes. We design, build, and operate our aircraft, and offer drone delivery services on two continents. Our technology is designed to be easy to integrate into existing delivery and logistics networks, offering a scalable drone delivery solution for a broad range of businesses. Wing is a part of Google's parent company, Alphabet, and our mission is to create the preferred means of delivery for the planet. If you're ready to do the greatest work of your life, come join us.

Wing is looking for a Head of Global Policy to join our Government & Aviation Affairs team. This role is based remotely in the US or hybrid in Washington, D.C. or Arlington, VA.

This executive-level position will lead Wing’s global policy development and thought leadership, reporting to the Director of Global Policy, Government & Community Affairs. This leader is responsible for creating the foundational policy frameworks that will enable scalable, autonomous, and safe drone delivery around the world. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive global policy strategy, engage with various external groups and elected officials, to shape the rules for this new era of aviation. This person will also be responsible for developing policy positions on non-aviation topics critical to last-mile highly automated delivery including artificial intelligence, national security policy, privacy, manufacturing and supply chain, and economic and labor impacts. The successful candidate is a proven policy strategist with deep intellectual curiosity who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. We are looking for an intrinsically driven leader who can manage a global team of experts, navigate complex, first-principles policy debates, and work cross-functionally to align Wing’s technical roadmap with its global public policy goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute Wing’s comprehensive global policy strategy, creating scalable, principles-based frameworks for new and existing markets.
  • Lead and mentor a global team of policy professionals, fostering a culture of intellectual rigor, collaboration, and strategic impact.
  • Serve as a representative and thought leader in global aviation, logistics, and tech innovation forums with the policy offices of national aviation authorities and with elected officials, and Ministries.
  • Author and oversee the development of authoritative white papers, public comments, and presentations on complex policy issues, including global aviation policy and frameworks, artificial intelligence, national security policy, privacy, manufacturing and supply chain, and economic and labor impacts.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners, including U.S. Federal & State Affairs, regional Government Affairs leads, Regulatory, Legal, Product, and Engineering, to ensure a unified and consistent global policy position.
  • Translate complex technical concepts and safety architectures into clear, compelling, and accessible policy language for regulators and public audiences.
  • Advise Wing’s senior leadership on international policy developments, long-term regulatory trends, and strategic opportunities to shape the global operating environment.
  • Manage relationships with academic, think tank, and industry partners to build coalitions and amplify Wing's policy priorities.

What You’ll Need:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in global public policy, with a focus on aviation, transportation, or emerging technology.
  • 7+ years of experience managing high-performing, globally-distributed policy teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; an advanced degree (e.g., JD, MPP, MPA, PhD) is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience developing and executing multi-country policy strategies and successfully shaping novel regulatory frameworks for a new industry.
  • Experience in working with US domestic and global policy environments.
  • A demonstrable network of relationships with international regulators, industry-shaping academics, and technology policy organizations is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills, with a public record of authoring influential policy documents or analysis.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including internationally, as needed to perform job duties.
