About LottieFiles

LottieFiles is the platform for motion on the web and in apps. Millions of designers and developers use Lottie and dotLottie to create, customize, and ship lightweight vector animation. We build the tools, formats, players, and developer surfaces that make that happen — and we’re growing the next wave of users through product-led growth, not brand theater.

Preferred: overlapping Asia / Europe hours

Role Summary

We’re hiring a Head of Growth to own how LottieFiles acquires, activates, and retains users — and to build the marketing and growth team that can run that system.

This is not a brand-only Head of Marketing seat, and it’s not a sales leadership seat. You own the user side of the business: registered users, MAU, activation, and the full marketing stack that feeds it (organic, product marketing, lifecycle, community, developer marketing, paid). You’ll sit with leadership on positioning and bets, then turn those into a team, a weekly operating rhythm, and numbers that move.

You’ll inherit a working marketing org and a clear mandate: make growth a system, hire the gaps, kill channels that don’t work, and scale usage on the products that bring the next wave of users — including AI-assisted motion, agent workflows, and developer tools.

If you’ve built PLG growth at a design, creative, or developer tool — and you care more about first success than vanity traffic — this is the seat.

What you’ll do

Growth ownership

  • Own the company growth number: registered users, MAU, activation (first success), and the channel mix that drives them
  • Set the weekly operating rhythm: what ships, what gets killed, what gets measured
  • Build and maintain a single growth dashboard leadership trusts — regs, MAU, funnel steps, organic vs paid, cohort quality
  • Decide where to put budget and people: organic, SEO/AEO, paid, community, lifecycle, and developer surfaces
  • Protect existing acquisition engines (library / organic) while standing up the next ones

Marketing leadership

  • Own positioning and narrative across Creator, developer products, and platform — one company story, not competing campaigns
  • Lead product marketing and launch motions with Product and Engineering so releases land on first success, not catalog tours
  • Own paid and organic acquisition as one system; hold agencies and internal owners to efficiency, not spend vanity
  • Own lifecycle, email, and in-product growth loops with Product
  • Partner with Community and Social so builder and developer reach compounds, not just awareness

Team building

  • Build a rock-solid growth + marketing team: org design, hiring plan, leveling, and coaching
  • Hire the seats we don’t have yet (including senior developer marketing) and clarify ownership across campaigns, conversions, content, social, community, and landers
  • Create a culture of shipping: docs, landers, and experiments leave the building every week
  • Hold the line on what growth will not do — brand theater, enterprise selling as a substitute for PLG, or reopening locked ICPs every quarter

Cross-functional

  • Partner with Product and Engineering on activation and first-run paths
  • Partner with Sales where growth and revenue motions actually meet — you don’t own pipeline
  • Bring customer and usage truth into leadership bets; say no when a launch isn’t ready

What we’re looking for

  • 8–12+ years in growth and/or marketing leadership at a PLG SaaS, design tool, creative platform, or developer product — with a clear portfolio of user growth you owned
  • Proven experience building and leading a multi-disciplinary marketing / growth team (not just managing agencies)
  • Deep fluency in user metrics: registration, activation, retention, MAU — and the habit of tying every channel to those numbers
  • Hands-on enough to read analytics, kill a bad campaign, and rewrite a landing page brief yourself
  • Strong writer and operator: positioning, GTM plans, and weekly plans that teams can execute
  • Comfortable working with product and engineering as a peer; you can push on activation without waiting for perfect decks
  • Experience with organic-led growth (SEO, content, community) and paid — and knowing when to turn paid off

Bonus points if you..

  • Have scaled a design, motion, or developer tool through a stage like ours (strong organic base, new product surfaces coming online)
  • Have hired developer marketing / DevRel / technical PMM seats and know the difference
  • Have worked AI-assisted or agent-era developer products without treating them like brand campaigns
  • Have run growth when free usage was the metric and revenue was a later constraint
  • Have killed a channel, a launch, or a narrative that wasn’t working

What this role is not

  • Not Head of Sales — you don’t own pipeline or enterprise closing
  • Not a brand / creative director seat — brand supports growth; growth doesn’t exist to feed brand
  • Not a demand-gen manager with a bigger title — you own the number and the team that produces it
  • Not a pure DevRel or conference evangelist role

LottieFiles Perks

  • Fully remote working environment
  • Flexible work hours
  • A welcome gift and LottieFiles swag pack
  • Bonus to set up your workstation at home
  • Unlimited leave days
  • Medical insurance
  • Generous learning budget
  • Gym membership
  • Co-working space membership
