About Montauk Capital

Montauk Capital is an investment management platform that spans venture investing, private credit, and venture studio efforts. We build, invest, and unlock capital in the ‘Electron Economy,’ the massive shift toward software-enabled industrial and energy systems. This generational transition is reshaping how we power intelligence, move people and goods, and build resilient industries. From AI, data centers and Web3 to industrial robotics and re-shoring supply chains, the future of growth is built on electrification and the intelligent use of energy.

This transition requires reimagining how major economic sectors operate, creating unique opportunities for technology companies to accelerate, optimize, and shape the future. We leverage deep expertise in emerging technologies, capital markets, infrastructure, and sustainability to drive exceptional outcomes.

Our Venture Fund I, currently fundraising, will invest in software/AI-driven, CapEx-light tech companies within the energy transition, industrial efficiency and resilience, and climate tech spaces. Our private credit platform focuses on climate, electrification and adaptation. Our venture studio identifies untapped technological potential and develops these concepts into new businesses, having launched 10+ ventures to date. Together, these efforts form a powerful flywheel: by building companies, investing in their growth, and providing capital to leading tech businesses, each success reinforces the next.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring our first Head of Investor Relations, to drive our fundraising across strategies and fund types. This is a critical role that will harness our strong relationships across the investor landscape, capitalize on strong fundraising momentum, and channel the interest in participation in our Venture Fund I, private credit fund, and portfolio companies. You will manage relationships across a wide range of allocator and investor types, bringing institutional-level expertise while remaining hands-on across every aspect of capital formation. You’ll also represent Montauk in thought leadership around some of the most important topics across technology and climate, serving as a visible face of the firm and its portfolio. Working closely with our leadership team, you’ll establish the IR function and grow it into a best-in-class platform. This is a chance to shape and scale a function of central importance to Montauk’s success, with the full support of our team and network.

What You’ll Do

  • Product Development: Translate market insights and LP feedback into differentiated fund strategies, structures, and products that align with investor demand.

  • Process Management: Engage directly with prospects on calls, determine optimal next steps, and oversee execution of tailored strategies to move investors through the pipeline.

  • Cross-Platform Capital Formation: Drive fundraising across multiple vehicles, including venture and credit funds, while also supporting capital formation initiatives at the portfolio company level.

  • Relationship Building: Strengthen LP and corporate partner relationships by building on existing momentum and leveraging the team’s deep networks and accelerated partnership progress.

  • LP Data Management: Own CRM systems and manage LP data to maintain visibility and seamless communication, while building pipelines across fund vintages.

  • Investor Marketing and Communications: Own the creation and delivery of investor collateral and communications, including quarterly letters, pitch decks, data rooms, and other content.

  • Events and Engagement: Lead the planning and execution of investor-facing events, such as LP meetings, AGMs, and targeted roadshows.

  • International Expansion: Expand upon our strong international LP network and existing traction to refine our international strategy, secure commitments and broaden our investor base worldwide.

Who You Are / What You’ll Bring
  • Experience

    • 8 + years in investor relations, fundraising, or other capital formation roles in private markets.

    • Direct responsibility for raising at least $200M+ in aggregate commitments.

    • Experience across multiple strategies and allocator types.

    • LP-facing experience within a private markets investment management firm.

    • Proven success fundraising internationally (e.g., Europe, Middle East, Asia)

    • Proven track record closing capital commitments from relevant LP types (institutional, SWF, family offices, fund-of-funds).

  • Attributes

    • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability.

    • Highly organized, process-oriented, and detail-obsessed.

    • Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial team, initially without direct reports.

    • Strong interpersonal presence, credible with senior LP decision-makers.

    • Sophisticated communication skills, able to synthesize complex investment theses into

    • clear narratives.

    • Experience building and growing long-lasting and meaningful relationships.

    • Capable of delivering high-touch service through scalable outreach and processes.

What We Offer

  • Aligned Incentives – Competitive compensation, performance-based bonus, and equity so you share directly in the value we create.

  • Flexibility with Connection – A hybrid schedule (1–2 days per week in our Hudson Yards, NYC office) that balances collaborative in-person work with remote flexibility.

  • Direct Impact & Visibility – A flat, collaborative culture where your ideas matter and your contributions have immediate, visible impact across the firm.

  • Growth with the Firm – As Montauk Capital scales, so will your role. You’ll have runway to expand your responsibilities, shape the investor relations function, and grow as a leader.

  • Mission-Driven Community – A high-performing, team-oriented environment and collaborative culture at the intersection of energy, capital, and innovation.
