How-To Geek is looking for News Writers to cover timely, informative technology news in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The How-To Geek team closely follows the tech industry, publishing news, explainers, tips, and guides that help readers understand how technology works and why it matters. Our coverage spans a wide range of consumer and enthusiast tech topics, from hardware launches to software updates and emerging platforms.
Coverage Areas Include:- PC Hardware (Networking, Storage and NAS, Components, Peripherals)
- Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
- Software and Applications
- Mobile (Android, iPhone, Carriers)
- New Tech (Hobbies, Smart Home, Homelab, SBCs, Cutting Edge)
- Streaming (Content, Platforms, Audio/Video)
- Automotive
- Ability to contribute reliably and consistently under tight deadlines
- Stay up to date on the latest technology news, product launches, and updates
- Coordinate with the editorial team for assignments and feedback
- Input work into our in-house CMS according to editorial guidelines

Applicants must have a self-starter attitude and possess the following:
- Relevant experience writing and editing in English
- Ability to think analytically and clearly explain why a news story matters
- Strong familiarity with one or more of the coverage areas listed above
- Ability to work within a US time zone
