The company also makes it easy for vacation rental owners and property managers to advertise their properties and manage bookings online.

As an HR Generalist for HomeAway you will work directly with our employees and managers. Our employees will see you as a valuable resource for help, guidance and support. You’ll work to empower and increase the effectiveness of our managers via consultation, support, training, data and processes. This work allows them, along with you, to identify trends and strong points in their organization for the purpose of creating solutions and/or leverage strengths. The ultimate goal is for you to enable your internal clients to optimize their talent, capability, engagement and business results.

Responsibilities:

You’ll work with our front-line leaders on their organizational priorities ranging from employee relations, development and performance management to building leadership capability, hiring, immigration, and reward decisions. You will own both day-to-day HR activities, as well as execution of HR programs.

In addition, you will have the privilege to work with stakeholders across the US and occasionally gain some international experience. You’ll have the chance to engage in a variety of HR activities with no chance of boredom; and do so in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment where everyone’s contribution is valued. You’ll be joining a credible and talented HR team where people go out of their way to help each other succeed. Based on our investment in HR resources we are able to provide large company “big picture” perspective, combined with small company hands-on support. We take our work seriously, but we put a high priority on ensuring we weave fun into all we can, and reap the fulfillment that comes from being part of an amazing team. All of this while working in one of our cool Austin office spaces! At HomeAway, we are not only enabling unforgettable travel experiences; we are creating unforgettable careers.

Within the HR team you’ll be an integral part of our wider “front line” HR Business Partner–Generalist team, partnering and providing support to HRBPs, as well as with our COE teams (recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and operations) to deploy pragmatic solutions. As a critical member of our U.S. focused HR team, you will be called upon to participate in and sometimes lead special projects and best practice initiatives, both locally as well as those with potential regional or global impact.

Qualifications:

You are an excellent HR Professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where the team is close knit and you really get to know your clients. You love HR and the breadth of responsibilities; from coaching and influencing new managers to contributing to broader organizational HR initiatives. Your perspective is sought after by peers and leaders alike, due to your ability to ensure your recommendations are rooted in data and facts, yet balanced with thoughtful consideration of the human side of things. You have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in HR, and experience doing Employee Relations work.

Managers love you because of your sense of humor, approachability, lightning speed response time, insightful support, and most importantly, your true desire to help them and their teams be successful. Most importantly, you love travel, are particularly intrigued by the fusion of technology with vacation rentals, and want to be part of the company that leads the industry in bringing this all together.
