The Opportunity:

Do you have past experience supporting a Talent Management and Learning & Development department? HomeAway is looking for a Learning and Development Talent Specialist (Contract) that will have key coordination of projects and trainings, program management, and overall support of team operations. Areas of support include Culture/ Values, Diversity & Inclusion and Performance Management for our Talent Management team. Partner with leadership to successfully implement programs and processes.

You will support HomeAway’s learning management system by managing enrollment and tracking courses in the system, in addition to supporting and tracking usage of other e-learning platforms the company provides. Facilitate and coordinate HomeAway’s orientation program for new hires which is held every other Monday. Support coordination and facilitation of recent efforts to expand the new employee program globally. Support training and development classes by scheduling, coordinating facilitators, organizing key partners, and running logistics. Maintain and develop the team email inbox and calendar of events. Lead our chapter of Toastmaster’s and HomeAway’s Book Club. Work closely with other members of the Learning & Development team.

  • Partner with HR COE’s and HomeAway's President on D&I initiatives, including but not limited to Inclusion Discussion Series, data/ metric review, Affinity Team expansion/ management
  • Partner with L&D manager and Recruiting to implement return-ship program
  • Work with HR Program Manager to launch test of internal mentor program in Austin and London, through sourcing mentees/ mentors, delivering training, capturing metrics/ data throughout program
  • Support phase two of culture and core values rollout – manage spring objectives, and work with senior leaders and HR Business partners, and other HR COE’s to manage values integration across HomeAway
  • Implement competency work for HomeAway, work with business partners to support competency discovery for individual contributors, managers and leaders

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years adult learning/within a dynamic HR function or equivalent related experience.
  • Proficiency with curriculum design and development for adult learning modalities
  • Proficiency with training creation and delivery
  • Proficiency with LMS systems
  • Demonstrable ability to train on a variety of topics in a high performing knowledge work environment.
  • Strong communication/internal marketing skills.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills including strong PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • DDI Certification a plus
  • Insights Certification a plus
