Job description

At Hitachi Vantara, we bring data solutions to life. We help modern enterprises transform raw data into their greatest competitive advantage—powering insights, driving sustainability, and accelerating digital transformation. To achieve this, we need more than just managers; we need visionary leaders.

We are seeking an Inside Sales Manager who combines high-level strategic thought leadership with a passion for operational excellence. In this role, you will not just oversee a team; you will architect the entire inside sales engine. You will translate Hitachi Vantara’s global business objectives into actionable, day-to-day operational structures, ensuring our team is equipped to connect enterprises with the data solutions they need.

Role Dynamics: Strategy Meets Execution

Your strategic focus requires you to act as a thought leader within the organization, defining how our inside sales division aligns with long-term revenue goals. You will design the go-to-market architecture, optimize territory design, and pioneer new sales methodologies tailored to complex data environments.

Simultaneously, you will maintain a relentless focus on day-to-day operational execution. This means rolling up your sleeves to build standard operating procedures, monitor daily pipelines, run high-energy stand-ups, and directly coach reps on the floor to turn strategic vision into daily performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Thought Leadership
    • Align inside sales initiatives directly with Hitachi Vantara’s broader enterprise data solution roadmap.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to forecast long-term revenue and adjust strategies based on market shifts.
    • Serve as the internal voice for inside sales, driving cross-functional synergy with Marketing, Channel Partners, and Field Sales.
  • Operational Architecture & Day-to-Day Management
    • Build, standardize, and scale the operational workflows, dialer cadences, and lead-scoring mechanisms.
    • Manage the daily tactical cadence of the team, tracking real-time KPIs, call volumes, and conversion rates.
    • Select, integrate, and optimize the sales tech stack (CRM, conversational AI tools, and sales engagement platforms).
  • Talent Cultivation & Coaching
    • Design comprehensive onboarding frameworks to ramp new inside sales reps quickly on complex data architectures.
    • Provide hands-on, daily coaching, pipeline reviews, and continuous professional development.
    • Establish a culture of high accountability, data-driven execution, and collaborative success.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 7+ years of sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of building or restructuring inside sales organizations within the tech, SaaS, or data management sectors.
  • Strategic Acumen: Demonstrated ability to act as a thought leader, creating organizational structures that successfully meet high-level corporate goals.
  • Operational Grip: Deep, practical expertise in managing day-to-day sales metrics, CRM infrastructure (Salesforce), and sales enablement tools.
  • Data Literacy: Exceptional ability to analyze sales metrics, spot bottlenecks, and use data to optimize team workflows

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $170K to $200k. Expected on-target earnings: $250K to $275K.

The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara’s bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
