About NODA

NODA is a veteran-owned, venture-backed technology company that is transforming how unmanned systems collaborate in complex, mission-critical environments. We are developing next-generation solutions that enable the autonomous orchestration of heterogeneous unmanned systems across air, sea, land, and space with vital applications in the defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors.

Our Integration Engineers serve as the critical bridge between our orchestration platform and diverse autonomous systems, building the software interfaces and integration layers that enable seamless multi-domain operations in real-world environments.

Joining NODA means working on meaningful technology that pushes the boundaries of autonomy alongside a team that thrives on innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration.

The Role

We are seeking an Integration Engineer to build and deploy the software integrations that connect our autonomous orchestration platform to unmanned vehicles, sensors, and partner systems. This is a hands-on software engineering role focused on developing adapters, protocol translators, and integration layers that enable heterogeneous systems to work together seamlessly.

You'll write code to bridge our platform with vehicle control systems (MAVLink, custom APIs), develop interfaces for sensors and payloads, and deploy software in complex network environments. This role combines software development with field deployment—you'll build the integrations in the lab and validate them during live operations with defense and commercial partners. Expect up to 50% travel for field tests, demonstrations, and customer engagements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build software adapters and integration layers that connect our orchestration platform to unmanned vehicles, sensors, and third-party systems across air, sea, and land domains

  • Develop and maintain protocol translators for vehicle control systems (MAVLink, ROS/ROS2, custom APIs) and sensor data interfaces

  • Design, execute, and automate integration tests to validate system performance and reliability

  • Deploy and configure software integrations in operational environments, including complex network setups for multi-domain connectivity

  • Provide hands-on technical support during field operations, demonstrations, and customer engagements

  • Troubleshoot and debug integration issues across hardware, software, and network boundaries in both lab and field environments

  • Document integration patterns, deployment procedures, and lessons learned to accelerate future work

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate field experience into platform improvements

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience with at least one of:

    • Building system integrations, APIs, or middleware

    • Robotics or autonomous systems development

    • Embedded systems or hardware-software interfaces

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ for integration development, not just scripting

  • Experience integrating with external systems such as APIs, hardware protocols, or vehicle control interfaces

  • Networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, UDP, routing, subnetting, and network debugging

  • Advanced Linux proficiency including command line, shell scripting, system administration, and remote debugging

  • Experience with hardware integration for unmanned vehicles or embedded systems

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across software and hardware boundaries

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to support field tests, demonstrations, and customer engagements

  • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with autonomous systems (UAS, UGV, USV, UUV)

  • Experience with vehicle communication and control protocols such as MAVLink, ROS/ROS2, or custom vehicle APIs

  • Familiarity with sensor integration (cameras, LIDAR, radar, EO/IR, RF sensors)

  • RF communications experience including link budgets, antenna placement, and connectivity troubleshooting

  • DevOps or deployment experience in secure, constrained, or classified environments

  • HIL/SIL simulation environments

  • Cloud networking, VPN, or VPC configuration

  • Experience with DoD/defense environments and compliance requirements

  • Existing security clearance

What We Offer
  • Hybrid-friendly when not traveling

  • Competitive pay

  • Flexible time off

  • Generous PTO policy

  • Federal holidays

  • Generous health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Free OneMedical membership

Growth Path at NODA

Integration Engineers have multiple career progression options at NODA:

  • Technical track: Integration Engineer → Senior Integration Engineer → Lead Integration Engineer

  • Transition to Core Platform Engineering: For those who want to focus on core orchestration platform development

  • Transition to Field Operations Lead: For those who gravitate toward managing deployments and field campaigns

  • Individual contributor track: Available for those who prefer deep hands-on technical work

If you're ready to build the software that connects cutting-edge autonomous systems—and see your work perform in real-world missions—we'd love to hear from you.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. All qualified individuals will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
