Finance & Reporting

Incline Insurance Group is seeking a Finance & Analytics Intern to support financial operations, data modeling, and analytical initiatives across the organization. This role provides hands-on exposure to reinsurance accounting, financial reporting, and data-driven decision-making.


About the Finance Function

Incline’s Finance function supports financial reporting, planning, and analysis across the company’s program portfolio. The team partners closely with underwriting, actuarial, and data teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and informed decision-making.


What You’ll Do

As a Finance & Analytics Intern, you will support financial reporting, modeling, and data analysis initiatives across the organization.


Financial Analysis & Modeling: Assist with financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis for reinsurance portfolios.  Analyze premium, loss, and exposure data to support business insights.  Support development of financial reports and dashboards.

Financial Operations Support: Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, including reconciliations and journal entry support.  Help ensure data accuracy and consistency across financial systems.

Data & Reporting: Build and maintain reports using Excel, SQL, or business intelligence tools.  Translate financial and operational data into actionable insights.  Support automation of reporting workflows and data pipelines.

Research & Market Insights: Conduct research on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and market benchmarks.  Support strategic initiatives through data analysis and reporting.


What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an analytically strong student with an interest in finance, insurance, and data-driven decision-making.


Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.  Exposure to financial analysis, accounting, or insurance-related coursework.

Core Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  High attention to detail and accuracy.  Ability to communicate insights clearly.

 Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R.  Exposure to insurance or reinsurance concepts.  Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.  Interest in pursuing CPA, CFA, or similar credentials.


Location

This role is based in Austin, TX and operates within a hybrid work model.
