Application Developer Intern

Job Summary

The Application Developer Intern will work with the Information Technology (IT) team, and will focus on enterprise integration, application development tools, .NET, and T-SQL, to create, test, implement and maintain applications in-house. The Application Developer Intern will show initiative in troubleshooting problems, product improvement, and demonstrate effective communication with both IT and business partners. Personality and team focus are critical to success at UFCU.


Under supervision, the Application Developer Intern will deliver secure applications based upon requirements. The Application Developer Intern must be proactive in delivering successful solutions, including helping define requirements, application development and deployment, implementing best-practices, supporting testing efforts, and providing documentation while working with business units. The Application Developer Intern is also responsible for proactively providing project tasks and status updates.


The 12-week internship program begins May 26, 2026 through August 14, 2026.

Essential Functions

Application Oversight

  • Application Development
  • Seamless third-party integration, secure coding practices, performance analysis, and streamline applications
  • Application Maintenance
  • Debug, troubleshoot and monitor logs, including legacy applications

 

Analysis, Design and Testing

  • Analyze and model
  • Contribute to development deliverables, including data flow diagrams and class diagrams

 

Collaboration

  • Create and communicate documentation, unit testing follow-up, and change management participation

Compliance

  • Perform other duties as assigned 
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Complete required regulatory training as assigned
  • Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulation

Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student with accredited college or universities
  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program with an emphasis on Computer Science
  • Minimum of 60 completed academic hours
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Job may require travel to various locations throughout the Austin metro area.
  • Must be bondable

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience building RESTful services using Web API, Java, or other leading web services platforms
  • Experience building applications using C#, SQL Server, MVC, Js, Java, Python
  • Knowledge of web application-specific security issues and mitigation
  • Experience working with source control such as TFS, Git, Mercurial, or SVN
  • Experience working for a financial institution
