KVEO CBS 4 in Harlingen/Brownsville/McAllen, TX (DMA 80) is hiring an investigative multimedia journalist to join “4 Investigates,” an award-winning team of journalists.  Through tip-driven and enterprise investigations, 4 Investigates exposed corruption among elected leaders.  CBS 4’s overall station brand is “in-depth, investigative.”

 This MMJ will work with our Investigative Producer on short- and long-term investigations, pursue follow-up reports, break investigative angles when a major news story arises, and work on specific investigative beats.  The team also consistently tackles incoming tips, uncovers problems, and holds those responsible accountable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates should know the basics of data analysis, public information requests, backgrounding, interviewing subjects/sources, digital storytelling, and shooting/editing video.
  • They should also be open to collaboration with an entire team of investigators.
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Candidates must have excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient at digital video editing.
  • Confident at ad-libing presentations without the aid of scripts and/or teleprompters.
  • Possesses exceptional research skills.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred
  • Flexibility to work any shift
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
