DISRUPT EQUITY

Investor Relations Associate

Houston, TX · Full-time, in-office

Disrupt Equity acquires and operates multifamily assets primarily in Texas, Georgia, and Florida.  This role sits between those investors and our deal calendar. You’ll be the person our investors talk to — and the person who makes sure a closing never slips because a signature page or a wire didn’t show up.

It’s a hybrid seat: half investor service and communication, half transaction and capital-raise operations. If you like owning a checklist other people depend on, and you’re comfortable on the phone with someone who has real money in a deal, this is a good fit. If you want to be in acquisitions in twelve months, it isn’t.

What you’ll own

INVESTOR RELATIONS

  • First response on inbound investor calls and email — distributions, K-1s, portal access, document requests
  • Intake calls with prospective investors: walk them through an active offering using approved materials, and hand anything beyond the offering documents to a principal
  • The investor portal and CRM (HubSpot) contacts, entities, commitments, distributions, documents
  • The recurring communications calendar: quarterly updates, distribution notices, tax-season timelines

CLOSINGS

  • The closing checklist for every acquisition, refinance, and disposition — you build it, run it, and chase it
  • Daily coordination with title, escrow, lender, and counsel through closing; slippage escalated early and in writing
  • Every date in the PSA tracked — diligence expiration, earnest money hard dates, financing contingencies, closing — so nobody discovers one late
  • The closing binder and deal data room

CAPITAL RAISE OPERATIONS

  • Subscription documents end to end: issuance, tracking, completeness review, countersignature, filing
  • Accreditation and KYC/AML verified before any investor funds
  • Funds-in reconciled against commitments daily during a raise, shortfalls flagged same-day
  • Entity, EIN, and bank account setup for each new deal

What we’re looking for

  • 2–5 years somewhere where a missed deadline had consequences — title or escrow, fund administration, commercial lending, RIA client service, or a real estate sponsor
  • Proof you can run a multi-party checklist without being asked twice
  • Calm, clear writing and phone presence with people who have money at stake
  • Comfort with the vocabulary: PSA, PPM, subscription agreement, accreditation, capital call, distribution, K-1, title commitment, escrow
  • The instinct to say “let me get you the right answer” instead of guessing

Helpful, not required: Juniper Square or AppFolio Investment Management; commercial title or escrow background.

Compensation

Base of $70,000–95,000 depending on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus tied to company performance. This role is salaried — it is not commission-based and is not compensated on capital raised.
