Entry-Level Security Engineer
As an Entry-Level Security Engineer at Epicor, you will be part of a dynamic Security Engineering team where you will help protect enterprise systems, applications, and data—including AI-driven systems and services—while gaining hands-on experience across a modern and evolving threat landscape. You will build foundational expertise across multiple cybersecurity domains while contributing to real-world security initiatives.
What you will be doing
  • Support the design and deployment of enterprise security solutions across cloud, identity, endpoint, network, and AI environments
  • Assist in the implementation and management of tools such as Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), Identity & Access Management (IAM), SIEM, and secure web solutions
  • Help identify, assess, and remediate security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats across infrastructure, applications, and AI services
  • Contribute to efforts around AI security, including evaluating generative AI usage, data exposure risks, and shadow AI activity
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align systems with security and governance standards
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of emerging security technologies, including AI-focused tools
  • Help develop technical documentation, playbooks, and governance guidelines
  • Stay current with evolving cybersecurity and AI-driven threats
What you will likely bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT, systems, networking, or cybersecurity
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
  • Understanding of operating systems such as Windows and Linux
  • Basic security fundamentals, including authentication, least privilege, and encryption
  • Interest in AI/ML concepts, generative AI, or AI-related security risks
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to learn
What could set you apart
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Familiarity with identity and access management or directory services
  • Experience with endpoint security, SIEM tools, or vulnerability management
  • Knowledge of AI technologies such as large language models (LLMs), APIs, or ML models
  • Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python)
  • Familiarity with security tools or logging platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk)
  • Entry-level certifications such as Security+, AZ-500, SC-900, or AI-900
  • Exposure to security or AI governance frameworks such as NIST or ISO standards
