IT Services Engineer 3 

Reports To 

Director, Information Technology  

The Job  

The IT Services Engineer is a senior technical and operational owner responsible for the design, reliability, automation, and continuous improvement of end-user IT services. This role oversees the core platforms and services that power the digital workplace, including Microsoft 365, identity and access management, mobile device management, endpoint services, and IT service automation. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of overall IT experience, including at least 5 years of hands-on technical support. 

Responsibilities 

End User & Workplace Services 

  • Design and implement service offerings that ensure the operational health of end-user IT services 
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of desktop, laptop, mobile, and collaboration services 
  • Act as the escalation point for complex service issues and systemic platform challenges 

Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Platforms 

  • Design, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365 services including: 
  • Exchange Online 
  • SharePoint Online 
  • OneDrive 
  • Teams 
  • Microsoft Power Platform 
  • Implement governance, security controls, and lifecycle management for M365 workloads 
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to align M365 configuration with organizational standards 
     

Identity & Access Management 

  • Own identity platforms and services including: 
  • Entra ID (Azure AD) and other identity management platforms 
  • Conditional Access 
  • MFA 
  • Identity lifecycle management (joiner/mover/leaver) 
  • Design and maintain secure, scalable identity and access models 
  • Integrate identity services with SaaS, on-prem, and cloud systems 
     

Mobile Device & Endpoint Management 

  • Architect and operate Mobile Device Management (MDM) and endpoint platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Jamfand or others) 
  • Define device standards, enrollment workflows, compliance policies, and patching strategies 
  • Oversee Windows, macOS, and mobile device management strategies 
     

IT Services Automation 

  • Drive automation-first approaches across IT services and operations 
  • Develop and maintain automation using: 
  • PowerShell 
  • Microsoft Graph 
  • Jira Service Management 
  • APIs and workflow automation tools 
  • Reduce manual effort, improve reliability, and accelerate service delivery through automation 
     

Service Improvement & Strategy 

  • Identify opportunities to improve user experience, reliability, and operational efficiency 
  • Deliver results against service roadmaps, technical standards, and best practices 
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and approaches 
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.

Qualifications 

Required 

  • 10+ years of experience in IT services, workplace technology, or endpoint engineering 
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft 365 and related cloud services 
  • Strong experience with Identity & Access Management, including Entra ID / Azure AD 
  • Hands-on experience with Mobile Device Management platforms (Intune preferred) 
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills with real-world automation experience 
  • Strong understanding of IT service operations and ITIL-aligned practices 
  • Ability to operate independently and influence without formal authority 

Preferred  

  • Experience designing or running large-scale enterprise IT services 
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles 
  • Experience integrating ITSM platforms with automation workflows 
  • Background in service desk operations or endpoint engineering 
  • Certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL, or security-related credentials 

Location 

Austin, TX – On Site  

Travel  

Minimal travel may be required as needed.  

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including laptop computers and smartphones.  

Physical Demands  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.    

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work  

This is a full-time, onsite position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. some nights and weekends may be required.
