About the Engagement

We need a hands-on Iterable expert to get our educator email journeys live, running correctly, and measured, and to shape an email engagement strategy across our user segments. Our new educator onboarding journey creative was finished in February and is still not fully live because of Iterable and product setup. More educator journeys are queued behind it, and we have had to pause journeys that sent when they should not have. Recent campaign sends have also shown gaps in our wider email process, such as sends reaching the wrong countries or listing the wrong dates, so we also need email marketing operations help to fix how campaigns get built, checked and approved.

This is a 12-week contract. You'll work alongside our Email team and partner with Product and Engineering on event data. The goal is to clear the backlog, prevent new mistakes, and leave us with a strategy and playbook we can run ourselves.

What You'll Own
  • Educator Journey Launch: Finish setup, QA and launch of the new educator onboarding journey, and retire the old one with no gap in coverage. Then build and launch the other educator journeys in progress, in priority order. Monitor each launch and report results against our journey goals.

  • Iterable Audit & QA: Audit active journeys and campaigns, and flag anything sending to the wrong audience or overlapping another program. Put a pre-launch QA checklist and sign-off step in place so unintended sends stop.

  • Email Marketing Operations Review: Review how our email campaigns move from request to send today across Marketing, Creative, Product and the Email team. Find where errors slip through and recommend improvements, such as clear owners and checks for audience, country, dates and offers before anything sends. Help put the agreed changes in place. Start from the issues the team has already flagged in the weekly email marketing meeting.

  • Conversion Tracking: Review our educator and family conversion definitions and tracking in Iterable, and implement or fix them where needed, with tracking live by December 1. Confirm the product events our journeys rely on to reach Iterable.

  • SMS Integration: Help complete the Iterable SMS setup and define the first educator SMS use case, opt-in and compliance requirements.

  • Engagement Strategy Across Segments: Map current email by segment: free and paid educators, ES+ schools and districts, families, and prospects. Recommend programs, cadence and priority rules so programs don't collide, plus a roadmap for the next two quarters.

  • Documentation & Handoff: Leave a playbook covering journey logic, naming, QA and troubleshooting, and walk the Email team through it.

Timeline & Deliverables
  • Weeks 1–2: Iterable walkthrough, audit of live journeys, QA checklist, prioritized launch list, review of the current email campaign process

  • Weeks 3–8: onboarding journey live and monitored, next journeys launched, conversion tracking live by Dec 1, process improvements recommended and rolling out

  • Weeks 9–12: segment strategy and roadmap, playbook, final walkthrough

  • Weekly: 30-minute check-in and a short written status update

Not in scope: email creative and copy, product or engineering builds, changing email platforms.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3+ years hands-on in Iterable: journeys, segmentation, triggers, data feeds and QA

  • Lifecycle email experience across several user segments

  • Experience setting up conversion or event tracking and reporting on email impact

  • Email marketing operations experience: campaign intake, workflows, QA and approvals across teams

  • Clear, practical recommendations, delivered collaboratively with an in-house team

  • Comfortable working remotely and independently

Nice to Have:

  • EdTech, K-12 or freemium product experience

  • Iterable SMS setup

  • Salesforce and Iterable integrations

  • Deliverability and domain reputation

How We'll Measure Success
  • Educator onboarding journey live, old journey retired, no coverage gap

  • No unintended sends from journeys launched or reviewed

  • Process improvements agreed and in use, with audience, country and dates checked before every send

  • Conversion tracking live in Iterable by December 1

  • Every in-progress educator journey launched or on a dated plan

  • Segment strategy and playbook delivered and reviewed by the Email team
