Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking an AI Security Platform Engineer to lead the engineering and operational enablement of commercial agentic security operations platforms and AI-powered security capabilities. This role connects security operations, security engineering, security architecture, and AI engineering to deliver secure, reliable, explainable, and production-ready solutions.

The engineer will integrate AI security platforms with Microsoft Sentinel, security orchestration and automation technologies, threat intelligence platforms, endpoint and identity systems, email and cloud security platforms, and internal security workflows. The role will design and maintain evidence acquisition pipelines, agent orchestration frameworks, AI workflow integrations, observability capabilities, and governance controls that support effective and responsible use of AI in security operations.

This position provides project and change leadership, security oversight, and risk management for complex information security initiatives. The engineer will set design guidelines and implementation patterns, identify emerging risks, develop mitigation plans, influence senior leaders toward simplified solutions, and build trusted relationships across the organization. The role also trains and mentors team members and may contribute to projects that develop new intellectual property.

The Senior Security Engineer will lead the design, engineering, and deployment of next-generation AI-powered Security Operations (SecOps) capabilities. This role combines deep expertise in cybersecurity engineering, security automation, SOAR, cloud security, and agentic AI to build scalable, secure, and autonomous security operations platforms. The ideal candidate will help transform security investigations through AI-driven automation, advanced orchestration, and intelligent decision-support capabilities while ensuring robust governance, observability, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, integration, deployment, and support of Agentic SOC, AI-powered security operations, and autonomous investigation capabilities.
  • Design and develop security automation solutions using Python, REST APIs, cloud services, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Build and maintain RAG architectures, agent orchestration frameworks, evidence acquisition pipelines, knowledge retrieval services, and AI workflow integrations.
  • Establish secure engineering standards, reusable patterns, and architecture frameworks for AI-enabled security platforms and services.
  • Design scalable integrations across Microsoft Sentinel, SOAR, threat intelligence, endpoint, identity, cloud, and email security platforms.
  • Implement AI observability, monitoring, auditability, and explain ability capabilities to improve operational performance and governance.
  • Identify security risks related to AI models, agents, data flows, cloud platforms, and third-party technologies while developing practical mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Security Operations, Architecture, Risk, Data, and Technology teams to improve detection, triage consistency, autonomous investigations, and reduce MTTR.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience with expertise across multiple information security domains.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing AI, Generative AI, Machine Learning, Agentic AI, or AI platform technologies.
  • Experience building and supporting security automation, SOAR, or enterprise security platform engineering solutions.
  • Strong software engineering skills with Python, API development/integration, and automation of security workflows.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, security orchestration technologies, and production Security Operations environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, cloud-native services, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar).
  • Knowledge of LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, MCP, RAG architectures, AI orchestration frameworks, and enterprise AI services such as Azure OpenAI or Security Copilot.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives, communicate security risk to senior stakeholders, and influence scalable, risk-aligned solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with vector databases and retrieval services such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, or Redis Vector.
  • Knowledge of AI governance, observability, audit logging, data lineage, and model monitoring.
  • Experience with graph technologies such as Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, or TigerGraph.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and security data engineering.
  • Experience supporting highly regulated environments such as financial services, banking, or healthcare.
