Our platform currently serves tens of thousands of developers globally, processing billions of dollars in merchant revenue annually. You'll be responsible for elevating our API platform to handle the next order of magnitude in scale while pioneering the integration patterns that will define how AI agents interact with commerce systems worldwide.

What You'll Do:Define and Execute World-Class API Strategy
  • Architect API platforms that elegantly handle billions of requests monthly while maintaining 99.99% uptime

  • Lead the evolution from human-first to machine-first API design, enabling both traditional developers and AI agents to seamlessly integrate with our platform

  • Define versioning strategies that help us maintain a suite of REST, GraphQL, and MCP APIs and a Webhook eventing system

  • Design sophisticated rate limiting and governance frameworks that balance developer freedom with platform stability

  • Define the next generation of developer products used to extend the Commerce ecosystem

Pioneer Agentic Commerce Experiences
  • Lead the industry in implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) standards for AI-agent commerce interactions, partnering with the top AI companies

  • Build the APIs that will power autonomous checkout experiences, intelligent reordering systems, and conversational commerce

  • Partner with AI teams to create machine-readable API schemas that enable agents to understand and execute complex commerce operations

  • Define authentication and authorization patterns for AI agents, including granular permission models and spending controls

Master Complex Commerce Integrations
  • Design unified API abstractions across PIM, inventory management, payment processing, shipping, tax calculation, content management and fulfillment systems, built by global engineering teams

  • Architect webhook systems supporting millions of real-time events

  • Build GraphQL federation strategies that enable flexible data access across distributed commerce microservices

  • Create integration patterns for multi-channel commerce including marketplaces, social commerce, and point-of-sale systems

Drive Developer Excellence at Scale
  • Champion developer experience as the primary competitive advantage, targeting Time to First Hello World under 5 minutes

  • Build comprehensive SDK strategies across multiple languages, ensuring consistency while respecting language idioms

  • Design documentation architectures that serve both human developers and AI agents effectively

  • Cultivate a thriving developer community through authentic engagement, technical content, and ecosystem partnerships

Lead Through Technical Excellence
  • Mentor engineering teams on API best practices, design patterns, and developer experience

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Marketing, Business Development, Sales, and Engineering leadership
