Cadence Design Systems is looking for a software engineer to work as a member of the R&D group on Cadence's Innovus product. Innovus is a complete digital implementation product that encompasses physical design and logic synthesis. 
The product breadth means we are looking for candidates with backgrounds from placement, routing, optimization, to timing and power analysis. In the era of AI, additional knowledge with GPU acceleration, reinforcement learning, and ML is preferred. 
You will be part of Innovus Optimization RD team, solving most challenging problems in EDA domain, and working with designers from premium customers. Responsibilities include designing, developing, troubleshooting, and supporting the Innovus product.
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
* PhD or MS in Computer Science or Engineering with work experience is preferred 
* Strong analysis, learning and problem solving skills
* Excellent programming and software engineering skills, especially C/C++ and UNIX platforms
* Prior experience with large software development projects is highly recommended
