JOB DESCRIPTION

Matador Resources Company, a leader in the oil and gas industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our in-house legal team as a legal assistant/administrative assistant. This position offers the opportunity to support the legal team by managing administrative tasks alongside corporate governance, compliance and transactional matters, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities and legal functions within the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Support:

  • Prepare, proofread and format correspondence, presentations and other documents.
  • Maintain and organize the legal team’s filing systems, both digital and physical.
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of legal and corporate documents.

Corporate and Legal Support:

  • Assist in drafting, reviewing and maintaining corporate governance documents, including board resolutions, meeting minutes and corporate policies.
  • Maintain and organize corporate records, legal documents and entity management systems.
  • Support corporate compliance activities, including the management of filings with regulatory agencies.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and document preparation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance, compliance and transactional processes is a plus.

Education and Experience:

  • Four-year college degree is preferred.
  • Paralegal certification is a plus.
  • Experience in an administrative role is a plus, preferably in a corporate environment, or as a corporate paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal setting.
