To join our team as a Legal Operations Specialist! The Legal Operations Specialist will join a welcoming, close-knit legal operations team. This is a great opportunity to be involved with high-level legal and business operations for the leading company in the energy efficiency industry. We are dedicated to supporting employees across the organization, streamlining and improving legal processes, and coordinating cross-functionally to advance the company’s broader operational and strategic goals.

The Legal Operations Specialist will provide legal support, lead projects, support corporate governance, and enhance operational processes. The ideal candidate shows exceptional attention to detail, strong initiative, intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, and the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively. They have exceptional customer service skills applicable to interactions with employees at all levels of the company.

Candidates must be based in a location that aligns with Pacific Standard Time working hours.

For this exciting career opportunity, you’re a great fit if you can…

  • Own the full lifecycle of legal inquiries in a shared inbox from first touch through final resolution, providing guidance on best practices and utilizing departmental experts to offer contract interpretation, policy guidance, and direction on legal principles

  • Support project management activities across the legal department, such as tracking deliverables, coordinating cross-functional workflows, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring stakeholders remain informed and aligned

  • Research, develop, and manage legal team process improvement initiative projects

  • Assist with corporate governance tasks, including maintaining corporate records, supporting document production efforts, and preparing various resolutions and related materials

  • Monitor and maintain the contract database, including entering, verifying, and auditing contract data to ensure complete and accurate contract records and document integrity

  • Prepare legal documents using established templates and playbooks

  • Design and deliver training on the contract management database, internal processes, and foundational legal principles

  • Build and sustain professional relationships across the organization, inside and outside the legal team

In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of experience with legal project management, corporate governance, procurement, contract management, and/or in-depth legal and business administration

  • Paralegal certificate, contract management certificate, and/or public notary endorsement

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, excellent verbal and written communication, and superior organization

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and contract principles and ability to communicate complex information across all levels of the organization

  • High-level critical thinking and problem solving, ability to prioritize, and developed time management skills

  • Strong team orientation with a commitment to shared goals and mutual support

  • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning and development

  • Expertise with any contract management software

  • Fluency with common software/apps, specifically Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

  • Aptitude for and interest in learning new technology, processes, and systems

Preferred Attributes

  • Professional certificate (e.g., PMP, CLOC, CLM, LPP, etc.) or advanced degree

  • Familiarity with Salesforce, DocuSign, and SharePoint

  • Prior experience in any manner of service job, e.g., barista, bartender, or retail sales, with teaching or training experience preferred

  • Passion for anything not related to work

  • A demonstrated interest in environmental, energy, or social issues is a plus

Work Environment:

  • This is a remote role; however, candidates must be willing and able to travel to Portland, Oregon 1–2 times per year for legal team meetings.

Compensation Target:

$75,000/ USD Annually
