The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting daily transportation and logistics operations through effective communication, documentation management, and cross-functional coordination. This position is responsible for managing logistics-related communications, maintaining accurate operational records, and ensuring the timely resolution of requests from internal stakeholders, external customers, carriers, brokers, and logistics partners. The role supports efficient freight movement by coordinating documentation, shipment activities, and operational workflows while ensuring compliance with established company procedures and transportation requirements.

In This Role

  • Manage shared logistics inboxes and communication channels, ensuring requests are reviewed, prioritized, and resolved within established timelines  
  • Create, review, and distribute transportation documentation including Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipment paperwork, and related logistics documents  
  • Prepare and maintain export documentation and shipping records to support domestic and international shipments  
  • Coordinate with internal teams, carriers, brokers, and external partners to ensure shipping documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timelines  
  • Coordinate daily communication between internal departments, external customers, carriers, and logistics partners to support operational continuity  
  • Maintain accurate and organized logistics documentation, shipment records, and supporting paperwork across internal systems  
  • Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution when discrepancies arise  
  • Track open requests and follow through to completion, proactively communicating updates, delays, and escalations to appropriate stakeholders  
  • Support transportation and logistics workflows by coordinating appointments, shipment updates, routing requests, and operational follow-up activities  
  • Professionally engage with external customers and carriers to resolve issues, provide updates, and maintain positive working relationships  
  • Prioritize multiple operational requests simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness  
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with logistics, warehouse, sales support/customer service, and other operational teams to support business objectives  
  • Identify recurring issues and communicate process improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency and service levels  
  • Support reporting, data entry, and system updates to maintain operational visibility and documentation accuracy  
  • Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person

  • Previous experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, customer service, administrative support, or a related operational environment  
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs  
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams  
  • Ability to professionally communicate with external customers, carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders  
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience working within shared inboxes, operational systems, or transportation management platforms preferred  
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately and support timely resolution
