POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Manager of Content Development is the leader of the creative production engine, responsible for transforming strategic learning objectives into high-quality, deployable learning assets. This expanded role not only oversees the entire content development lifecycle but also owns the Learning Management System (LMS) strategy. The Manager ensures all training materials are instructionally sound, engaging, and brand-consistent. The role requires managing production workflows, maintaining relationships with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and occasionally stepping into the field to lead and facilitate training sessions to model content delivery and maintain instructional expertise.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Content Development & Production Leadership

  • Lead the Production Engine: Manage and optimize the end-to-end workflow for the creation of all internal and external learning assets (video, e-learning, manuals, job aids), ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
  • Quality & Consistency: Enforce instructional design quality standards (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and ensure all training materials are effective, measurable, and visually consistent with the company brand guidelines.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the development and maintenance of various content formats, including Interactive E-learning Modules, Training Videos, Detailed Training Manuals, and Quick Reference Job Aids.

II. LMS Strategy and Technology Ownership

  • LMS Strategy: Own the strategic roadmap and governance of the Learning Management System (LMS). Define how the system is utilized to deploy, track, and measure learning content effectively across the franchise network.
  • Deployment Excellence: Partner directly with the LMS Specialist to ensure efficient system configuration, data integrity, reporting capabilities, and the seamless deployment of all developed content.
  • Future Planning: Research and evaluate new learning technologies and features (including AI/machine learning capabilities) to enhance content delivery, user experience, and administrative efficiency.

III. Stakeholder, Team Management, and Process Improvement

  • SME Relationship Management: Act as the primary liaison with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from various departments (e.g., marketing, operations, and product team) to gather content input and ensure the technical and legal accuracy of all training materials.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to content development and LMS deployment processes, tools, and templates.

IV. Instructional Practice and Training Facilitation

  • Lead Training Facilitation: Occasionally lead and facilitate training sessions to model instructional delivery, maintain personal instructional mastery, and provide direct feedback on content effectiveness.
  • Active Instruction: Maintain standing as an expert practitioner by actively teaching barre3 classes to stay current with product delivery and the member experience (as capacity allows).

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Alignment with barre3 Core Values: Practice Authenticity, Stronger Together, Love of Learning, Give Generously, Make It Happen
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Communications, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in content development, instructional design, and multimedia production for learning.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or leading a team of content creators/instructional designers.
  • Demonstrated experience in owning or significantly contributing to the strategic planning and governance of a major Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Proven expertise in applying instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theory.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline) and video production workflows.
  • Ability and willingness to lead instructor training sessions and actively teach barre3 classes as required.
  • Excellent project management skills (PMP certification desired) and strong communication skills.
  • Certified (or willing to become certified) barre3 Instructor preferred
