Role Summary

The Manager, Data Services plays a key role in delivering successful Workday data conversion and migration projects for The Groove's clients. This position leads data workstreams, partners closely with client and internal teams, and may provide day-to-day leadership and coaching to other team members.

The role is responsible for supporting the full data conversion lifecycle, including data assessment, mapping, transformation, loading, validation, reconciliation, testing, and deployment. Success in this role requires strong Workday data conversion expertise, excellent client service, clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support end-to-end Workday data conversion activities, including source data assessment, mapping, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation.

• Partner with clients and functional, technical, reporting, and project teams to understand conversion requirements, resolve data issues, and align data activities with project milestones.

• Develop and maintain data workbooks, load files, validation reports, reconciliation outputs, and other client-facing documentation.

• Lead or support data activities throughout testing cycles, deployment readiness, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.

• Review team deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment with Workday and The Groove delivery standards.

• Manage assigned data workstreams, including scope, priorities, risks, dependencies, timelines, and delivery commitments.

• Identify data risks and issues early, develop recommendations, and communicate escalations clearly and professionally.

• Guide client stakeholders through data-related decisions, requirements, validation, and reconciliation activities.

• Coach and support team members through feedback, knowledge sharing, and hands-on guidance.

• Contribute to the continued development of The Groove's Data Services practice through reusable tools, templates, methodologies, and process improvements.

• Build strong client relationships and represent The Groove with professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will be expected to independently lead Workday data conversion workstreams or teams while remaining actively engaged in delivery. You will manage the quality and execution of assigned work, help clients navigate complex data decisions, resolve issues and escalations, and support the development of other team members.

Successful Managers balance hands-on Workday expertise with strong project leadership, client partnership, coaching, and accountability for results.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Workday data conversion, Workday consulting, enterprise application delivery, or a related field.

• Hands-on experience with Workday data conversion activities, including data mapping, transformation, tenant loads, validation, reconciliation, and data-related reporting.

• Experience leading or owning data conversion workstreams within Workday implementations or related projects.

• Experience gathering requirements, facilitating design discussions, supporting testing, documenting solutions, and resolving data issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed, and client-facing consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current or prior Workday certification in a relevant product area.

• Experience working for a Workday partner or within a consulting, professional services, SaaS, or technology organization.

• Experience supporting full-cycle Workday implementations, AMS or post-production engagements, optimization projects, or release-related activities.

• Experience leading data conversion activities across multiple Workday functional areas.

• Experience developing reusable delivery assets, client documentation, training materials, or knowledge transfer content.

• Experience collaborating across functional, technical, data, reporting, advisory, and project management teams.
