The Role:
Entegris is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our Advanced Deposition Hardware team. This position will be based in our Round Rock, TX facility.
Entegris is seeking an experienced mechanical engineering manager to lead the development of next‑generation semiconductor hardware/delivery systems solutions. In this high‑impact leadership role, you will guide a mechanical engineering team through the full product lifecycle — from concept and design to validation, manufacturing, and customer deployment.
You’ll shape the future of our hardware portfolio by driving innovation, partnering with global manufacturing teams, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, technical environment and are passionate about building advanced technologies that power the semiconductor industry, this is an opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact.
What You’ll Do
Work closely with systems engineering, electrical engineering, controls, materials scientists, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to deliver liquid and solid precursor delivery systems capable of supporting leading edge semiconductor processes, strict defectivity targets, and high‑volume manufacturing (HVM)
Lead a team of mechanical engineers in the design, development, verification and deployment of semiconductor delivery system products for solid and liquid ALD and CVD precursors
- Ensure mechanical designs support critical ALD requirements including:
- Ultra‑clean vacuum environments
- Precise thermal management
- Uniform gas delivery and purge performance
- Product stability across thermal cycling
- Drive design decisions related to:
- Vacuum components and process monitoring
- Materials selection for contamination control
- High‑temperature and corrosive chemistries
- Tool maintainability, ease of use and uptime
Work with contract manufacturers domestically and internationally on designing, building, testing, qualification, and continuous improvements of Entegris delivery systems and hardware within a Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) approach
Research and identify improved hardware sub-components (valves, pressure transducers, control systems etc.) to be used to better overall customer satisfaction with the cost, performance, quality, safety, and delivery of our hardware products
Manage, develop, and document intellectual property in collaboration with Entegris legal
Create, manage, and validate the deliverables from product development to the release to manufacturing
Drive internal and external engineering resources to meet the needs of customers regarding overall product performance and project timelines
Manage the professional development of the engineering team, with a focus on semiconductor technical acumen, technical project execution and continuous improvement
Engage with product marketing, field service engineering and customers on detailed functional requirements for our delivery systems and hardware products
What We Seek
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
8+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including: 3+ years in a technical leadership or people‑management role
Direct experience designing semiconductor processing equipment, preferably: ALD, CVD, or related vacuum‑based deposition tools
Strong background preferred in: Precision mechanical design, vacuum systems and leak integrity, thermal management and heat transfer, materials selection for corrosive and high‑temperature environments
Ability to balance innovation speed with robustness and manufacturability
Clear communicator who can align cross‑functional teams
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, NX) and engineering analysis methods
Experience transitioning designs from R&D to high‑volume manufacturing
Knowledge of semiconductor industry standards, safety requirements, and cleanliness protocols
