Position Summary:

The Manager, Payments Sales is responsible for leading the payments sales team and driving adoption, activation, and GMV growth across the customer base. This role leads an overlay sales motion in partnership with the SaaS/EMR sales organization, supporting new customer sales, existing customer expansion, and targeted re-engagement of customers who have not fully adopted payments.

This leader will be accountable for team performance, sales execution, pipeline discipline, customer outreach, and value-based selling. The ideal candidate has experience selling integrated payments within a vertical SaaS environment and understands how to position payments as part of a broader software platform, customer workflow, and business outcome.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Payments Sales team responsible for driving payments adoption, customer activation, and GMV growth.
  • Own team performance and quota against monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, activation, and processing volume targets.
  • Partner with SaaS/EMR Sales and CS leadership and account executives to co-sell payments into new customer opportunities.
  • Drive re-engagement efforts across the existing customer base to reinforce the value of payments and increase adoption.
  • Build and manage a disciplined sales motion, including account prioritization, outreach cadence, pipeline management, follow-up, and CRM hygiene.
  • Coach team members on consultative selling, discovery, objection handling, value proposition delivery, and closing strategies.
  • Ensure the team can clearly articulate the value of integrated payments in the context of customer workflows, operational efficiency, patient payment experience, collections, reconciliation, reporting, and revenue performance.
  • Use customer, pipeline, activation, and processing data to identify opportunities and prioritize sales activity.
  • Partner cross-functionally with SaaS sales, customer success, implementation, payments operations, marketing, product, and finance to support payments adoption and activation.
  • Serve as a payments sales subject matter expert for internal sales partners.
  • Support strategic customer conversations, executive-level discussions, and high-value opportunities as needed.
  • Monitor team activity, pipeline progression, conversion rates, activation progress, GMV trends, and performance gaps.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on performance, customer trends, sales blockers, and opportunities.
  • Stay current on integrated & embedded payments trends, Fintech, BaaS offerings, vertical SaaS sales practices, competitive offerings, and customer adoption drivers.

Education/Experience:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in payments sales, SaaS sales, fintech, healthcare technology, or related revenue-focused roles.
  • Experience selling integrated payments within a vertical SaaS environment required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing sales, overlay sales, activation, account growth, or revenue-focused teams.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales, activation, revenue, or processing volume targets.
  • Experience partnering with core SaaS sales teams through co-selling, account strategy, enablement, and customer re-engagement.
  • Strong understanding of how to position payments as part of a broader software platform value proposition.
  • Experience using customer data, CRM reporting, pipeline analysis, and segmentation to drive sales execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve go-to-market efficiency, including customer segmentation, outreach prioritization, sales messaging, pipeline management, and performance analysis.
  • Strong coaching, communication, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Payments industry experience required; integrated payments experience strongly preferred.
