Whatever your role, you’ll contribute to a shared mission to advance what’s possible in cardiometabolic care and help shape what comes next for patients.

Position Summary

The Manager, Supply Chain & Logistics, is responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of NewAmsterdam Pharma’s inventory control and logistics operations, with primary responsibility for ensuring accurate inventory visibility, effective inventory controls, and the timely and compliant execution of domestic and international shipments. This position will primarily support commercial supply chain operations, with involvement in clinical supply activities as needed.

Reporting to the Director, Commercial Supply Chain, this is a hands-on operational role requiring a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive individual who demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and follow-through. The successful candidate will independently manage priorities and operational activities, anticipate and resolve issues, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of inventory records, shipping documentation, and related transactions.

The individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and external manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics partners to support reliable supply chain execution. This position requires someone who is comfortable managing detailed operational activities while proactively identifying opportunities to establish, improve, and standardize processes within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management and Control

  • Own and maintain accurate, end-to-end inventory visibility across products, materials, and external storage locations, including inventory balances, status, movements, and traceability.
  • Perform routine inventory reconciliations across internal records, CMOs/CDMOs, warehouses, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), independently investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain inventory management processes, controls, and reporting tools to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Monitor inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, allocations, shipments, and adjustments, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
  • Monitor inventory levels, status, expiry, and projected requirements to proactively identify potential shortages, excess inventory, or other supply risks and escalate or coordinate appropriate actions.
  • Manage the operational execution of sample requests, including material identification, availability verification, allocation, shipment coordination, and inventory traceability.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and external partners to resolve inventory discrepancies and support inventory-related investigations.

Logistics and Shipment Execution

  • Own the end-to-end operational execution of domestic and international shipments, from shipment initiation and planning through delivery confirmation and documentation closure.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules, material readiness, logistics arrangements, and required approvals with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Prepare, review, and verify required shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs documentation, and applicable import/export records.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, and transportation providers, managing daily activities and resolving shipment-related issues.
  • Proactively monitor shipment progress, investigate delays or exceptions, and drive timely resolution while maintaining effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized shipping processes, procedures, checklists, and controls to support consistent and compliant execution.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable shipment records, ensuring appropriate documentation retention and audit readiness.
  • Support shipment-related deviations, investigations, and corrective actions in partnership with Quality and external logistics providers.

PO Management and Operational Support

  • Execute purchase order creation and processing based on approved supply plans, contractual requirements, and internal approval procedures.
  • Track open orders and delivery commitments, proactively following up with external partners and internal stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Coordinate with Finance and external partners to support invoice reconciliation, three-way matching, and resolution of purchasing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and supporting documentation to ensure traceability and audit readiness.

Operational Reporting and Stakeholder Support

  • Produce routine inventory and supply reporting, including stock on hand, projected coverage, inventory status, and open orders, and maintain dashboards and KPIs that highlight risks, exceptions, and priorities requiring action.
  • Support cross-functional supply coordination and serve as a reliable resource for inventory status, sample availability, forecast status, and shipment tracking.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible supply chain experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with demonstrated experience in inventory management, logistics, and operational execution.
  • Strong hands-on experience managing inventory records, reconciliations, inventory movements, and controls across multiple external partners or storage locations.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and executing domestic and international shipments, including preparation and verification of shipping documentation, customs coordination, and shipment issue resolution.
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain requirements, including inventory traceability, controlled documentation, and applicable GxP considerations.
  • Experience working with CMOs/CDMOs, 3PLs, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other external logistics providers.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing processes, purchase order management, and basic invoice reconciliation.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP or inventory management systems, with strong Microsoft Excel skills for reconciliation, tracking, analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience supporting commercial pharmaceutical supply chain operations preferred; clinical supply experience is a plus.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Core Competencies

  • Demonstrates a self-starter mindset and proactively manages priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with a high degree of independence; anticipates needs, identifies issues early, and drives work through completion without requiring significant day-to-day direction.
  • Takes a scrappy, resourceful approach to solving problems, removing barriers, and delivering results with limited resources.
  • Adapts quickly to changing priorities, operational needs, and stakeholder input, while keeping work on track and meeting commitments.
  • Builds collaborative relationships across teams, shares information, welcomes different perspectives, and works with others to solve problems and achieve shared goals.
  • Communicates with transparency and sound judgment, sharing risks, tradeoffs, assumptions, and recommendations to support alignment and decisions.

  • This remote role requires periodic in-person attendance at NAP’s Philadelphia or Boston-area office based on business needs. Candidates residing in the Northeastern United States are preferred.
  • Travel is required based on business needs, including attendance at internal meetings and key company and/or industry events.

Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive base salary, annual bonus, and long-term incentives. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, dental and vision coverage, term life and disability coverage, and retirement plans.
